    Only fits 1" - 3" (not jam or larger cooking sauce jars)

    FWIW I tried the knocking of the lid on the corner of the bench and that actually works. I was surprised.

    Best way to open jars is to break the seal gently 1st (use a knife just under the lip to gently twist or lift until you hear that sucking sound of the vacuum releasing). Then the lid will come off with the softest of turns.

    Better than banging the lid, because it won't distort the lid (causing it to not close again with an airtight seal)
