    Nope, just set up a U.S. account, no VPN required. Apple now allow you to swap between accounts without any issues on iOS devices and on Apple TV it’s even easier as it allows you to register multiple accounts from different regions and just choose one, then it swaps Store and shows your library from that region.

    It’s worth doing anyway as some US movies have much better iTunes Extras and there are some films not available in the UK store at all. (edited)

    You need to create a US account by going to the Apple ID website,  with just a new email address you haven’t already used for Apple.  You can use a UK phone to register it but need a US address of it asks, however it should only ask for an address once the user has already been set up

    Thanks. I used the iTunes app on windows to create a US account. No phone or verification required. Loaded up the account with USD iTunes gift card from Electronic1st to complete the purchase.
