Storage in Your Hands
All recordings are stored directly onto your Wi-Fi Chime’s SD card that is located inside your home. This means that even if someone were to forcibly remove the doorbell all your data will remain secure. *SD Card must be purchased separately.

Smart Human Detection
The on-device AI instantly analyses each event and accurately determines whether or not a human is present. This ensures only relevant alerts* are sent and that you are notified in real-time.

A Clear View No Matter How Bright
WDR allows you to see visitors in sharp detail as they approach your door against any backlighting.

See From Head to Toe
The increased 4:3 Aspect Ratio ensures you get a full-body view of anyone who approaches.

Who’s there?
Receive facial snapshot notifications* so that you can quickly check who is at the door.

Respond in Real-Time
Speak directly to anyone who approaches your front door via two-way audio. Tell your friends to come round the back or that you have just run out to get some milk.

Customized Detection
Draw an Activity Zone to customize the area in which motion is detected. Exclude busy pedestrian areas or roads to reduce the number of false alerts you receive.

I’ve heard good things about Eufy and am looking for a good, reliable smart doorbell, in case anyone owns this and wouldn’t mind sharing their thoughts (edited)

I’ve got the 2k model (not really much functional difference!) and it’s been absolutely fine. The human detection works really well, as does the 2-way speech, and it was an absolute breeze to set up and install. There have been security concerns with Eufy but as the doorbell only looks at the part of my house you could see on Google street view I’m not particularly bothered about them.

Overall, solid product for a good price that doesn’t include any ongoing monthly cost.

This or Ring? Is it true with ring you need a subscription to keep the videos? If so do the videos just disappear once the person walks away and you have viewed the event?
    A57ton's avatar
    I’ve had both.

    Eufy 2K, Ring 2 and 4.

Ring has more accurate notifications and a rock solid platform. You can easily talk to a caller. The negative being the subscription.

Eufy has faster notification response time, but too many missed notifications for me, where someone walks past and they don’t get picked up. Eufy had slightly better picture quality, but talking over the phone was terrible to the point it was almost impossible.

Access point is about 2-3 meters away, with only the door in the way.

With Ring, without a subscription, you can answer a live call, but there are no recordings. (edited)

Great doorbell. If not for missing parcels, it's good security for your car if it's parked out front.

PLEASE READ THIS! if anyone has this or the 2k and has street lighting outside. Try turning off night vision! Saves battery for me, and it actually picks up the street lighting well. It's clearer than night vision.

i bought this 2 years ago for my parents. £79.99 at the time, so nothing has changed, other than the £5 voucher now. Very good bit of kit, always been reliable and as ppl have noted, no subscription required, all saved on sdcard (not supplied)

Would suggest reading up about the various security articles released about this product though. It is true the UEFY are uploading screenshots to their servers, but the main concern was accessing a live unencrypted url. This can now only be accessed with the users password and also changes during every stream, but it's (or was) definitely a concern.

Wanted to highlight this here so you can read and make your own mind up. I am waiting on a security researcher to test the product agian - since they've patched - and confirm all is good (I also work in the industry)

This is a very good piece of kit

I've been using one of these for nearly a year... happy with its performance and reliability.
My only concern is it that even though the recording are stored on the receiver it's still heavily reliant on an internet connection to Anker.
If Anker stop their support it'll be rendered useless.
Also knowing what I know now I would've purchased the 2K version for the extra features and the ability to connect it to Blue Iris.

Avoid if possible. Standard problem - water behind lens glass.

What did their customer service team say when you reported this?

    Thier customer service is amazing.
Thier (their) ability to lie is more alarming (sic).

I have this doorbell and have had it since 2020 - so now in it's third year of service with me. Due to my front door being close to a junction I pick up alot of foot traffic and before I changed the zones to be more specific for the property I was charging maybe once a month even in the summer.

Since modifying the zones to be more precise the doorbell only requires a charge every other month on our property. Bear in mind that talking to friends/neighbours on the doorstep will kill the battery though. Often in the summer when cutting the front lawn I find it will need a charge within the next two days.

The doorbell itself notifies my phone when it's at 50% that it needs charging (it's currently moaning at me).

Otherwise it's been very useful, especially when I've been at work and not working from home.

I have had the wired version for about 9 months and like the ring Pro it's hit n miss on performance IE doesn't always detect people or cats. Also gives false notification when nothing or nobody is there day or night. Sometimes nextdoor central heating vent gas fumes set's it off! Also have a WiFi range extender so it's got 💯 wi-fi! I would say it's 50/50 on accuracy and I've tried changing settings for sensitivity but doesn't seem to make any difference. Only positive is don't have to pay for subscription!
    M19C's avatar
Can you get notifications on more than one phone at the same time? For someone to check it?
  13. GreekJesus's avatar
Just hope nothing happens that you want to record while you've got the doorbell inside your house charging.
    pateo's avatar
I've got wired (non battery) version!
  14. Uranus's avatar
Is the resolution the only difference between this and the 2k version?
If so, I can't imagine the 2k version will make much noticeable difference when viewing through my phone, so I should go for this 1080 version right?

Or are there some better features and prolonged support life etc with the 2k version?
  15. deleted325759's avatar
....its rubbish, bad notification, some events not recorded, drops connection constantly.
    waste of money, IMHO
    sunnydelight's avatar
my experience been different quick notifications

Been using mine for about 3 years. Works great. Mum and mother in law also have one. No issues. Can have notifications to more than one phone and talk back works fine for us.

Installed the wired 2k on Sunday. Kept picking out rustling bushes in the front garden and me going in and out. Didn't pick out the post man on Monday. Good start... Nice looking piece of kit and easy installation though.

It doesn't like picking up on people who wear hats. Mine had the same issue other than that it's all good. I'd play around with the sensitivity setting that way you shouldn't get much pointless notifications

Installed mine 2 years ago, absolutely incredible.

It's disheartening to hear secuurity devices (not just eufy) are missing alerts. I was considering the Eufy S300 3 cam CCTV kit but at £500 and reviews saying it sometimes misses people, that does not sound good. So, I am saving up for an 'always live' Hikvision system for around £900
    smartdeals123's avatar
I have Eufy cam 2C cameras and they work fine. No issues. Good battery life also.
  20. Nick747a's avatar
Thier customer service is amazing. When i got mine the chime wasnt working, they sent a new one, when second one didnt work they sent a whole new kit with new doorbell. Had mine for couple years and have had no problems, though the battery only gives 30 days (i live on main road, i restricted recording area didnt help)
  21. y_shahs's avatar
Excellent. Using since last 2 years. Never had any issues.
  22. Jiminybillybob's avatar
Mine either records everything or nothing. Changed every setting and it does what it wants.
Works well as a doorbell camera though.

    Do not buy eufy products
    Uranus's avatar
What about The Sun? should we avoid that too?
  24. Gorskar's avatar
EUFY also have a well published issue where if you reset the doorbell (or pry it off and walk away with it) then stored video clips can no longer be accessed (because the decryption key for the videos is on the doorbell or something stupid like that)

    Dunno if
    a) its still a problem or
    b) if it affects this particular product.

I guess you can probably test pretty easily by just taking the battery out the doorbell, and seeing if you can access the video clips stored on the chime's SD card while the doorbell is inaccessible.
    A57ton's avatar
You cannot take the battery out of the door bell. The easiest thing to do is just take it out of range.
  25. _Sparky_'s avatar
Had this for a few months. The battery would need recharging after a couple of weeks. Even after setting custom alert areas and adjusting sensitivity it was poor so I sent it back and got the 2K version - it was a bit better, lasting about a month between charges. But after 12 months, the clear plastic covering the lens dropped out, so it went back, with a full refund from eufy. Also since then I've read some worrying things about security of the doorbell.

I love mine.. it’s truly excellent. The only issue with it is that the glass lens plopped off one day (and thankfully didn’t smash) and I had to tape it back on.. and now when the weather conditions are anything less than perfect it has a knack of fogging up.

Having read the forums the lens cover falling off is a very common issue so bear it in mind. Otherwise a solid 9/10 from me!
