I’ve been told by a few that these WiFi door bells take 10/15 seconds to start recording after motion is detected especially blink, ring are these any better ?

I have this doorbell, and don't find this to be the case. It's pointing towards a staircase, a few metres from my flat door, with the 3 top steps visible. Virtually all the recordings start with the person reaching the top step, or just as they're turning around to face the camera.

I got the 2k version of this from Amazon on a recent deal too. I find the battery to be fine, the detection is great too but the lag is a big problem. 90% of the time, it will take 15 seconds before it rings on my phone, by that time i have already heard the hallway chime, looked out of the window and opened the door. Phone settings (app sleep, background process etc etc) have all been adjusted. Signal strength from the app show very good on the both the doorbell and chime so no idea whats causing the lag. Bought one a few weeks ago , happy so far , records just as people reach door and have had a couple of live conversations with no lag , router is in hallway with chime plugged in next to it.

I bought the 2k model for £10 more and it can be wired in.

I've had this for over 2 years, it's a great buy. Battery life lasts for months for me. Great for deliveries when I'm out at work

This is a good price, but the wired one which is currently £120 is smaller and has very good WiFi, something which I needed. The AI human recognition is utterly useless and you'll almost certainly turn it off.
Other than that it's pretty good and better than the cheaper alternative.

Can this one not be wired ?
Do you have a link to one your taking about

I’ve had mine for nearly 6 weeks and I’m on 48%. Not loads of events, probably 5-6 a day from people walking past but that’s just cause of how my activity zone is set up, seems to pick up the shadows on my driveway. But I’m happy with it so far, probably 2-3 second delay from someone walking past to alerting on my phone but it doesn’t bother me (edited)

I've had one for nearly a year... it's not without it's problems.
I'll be returning my soon as the glass lens covering the camera is detaching. This is a known issue and Anker's support are giving me the run around so I will simply return it to Amazon for a refund.
The software has a bug where the days the camera has recorded footage are not indicated. This again is a well documented problem that Anker seem unable to fix.
As others have mentioned, there is a big lag between someone ringing the doorbell and being able to communicate with them using your phone... they've usually left by the time it's sorted itself out. Even if your at home on the same WiFi with an excellent signal it's still awful.
Anker's support boasts hassle free warranty handling etc... this is not the case as they play e-mail ping-pong and unnecessarily draw the whole process out until it gets painful.
Such a shame as otherwise it could be a really good product. (edited)

I have this and find the response time from person ringing, to me receiving the notification on my phone very slow. Probably 10 second delay minimum. I have fast broadband being FTTP but iit's a few walls away from the router (which in fairness is a bit poo being a Linksys Velop).

Avoid . I always have issue when someone bells and hard to communicate with anyone on door.

Broadband down and upload speeds are 500mb and device is near to the router . Even other end internet speed is fast.

    Same as you.

    This or a Ring doorbell?

I believe you don't need a subscription for the eufy but you will for ring. I have Ring and like the software for the doorbell you can setup zones and alerts all good, hate paying a subscription though. Don't know what eufy sw is like

I got one of these the last time too and the battery life isn't great. I'm charging it every 1 to 2 weeks

sounds faulty to me. I have this model and it will go 2 to 3 months with many captures per day. Set to max security mode.

This one is battery and needs to be charged regularly the wired one which I prefer is here:

I heard that these easily get stolen.

Well if it does you’ll have a recording of them taking it

Given the number of security flaws, hacks etc. I'm amazed people want to give Eufy (and their owners) their hard earned £!
