- I grow grass from seed in small bedding plant trays. Then when I pull the weed, replace with a grass plug !
- These are great but ours has started sticking and I can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. I’m sure something is bent or getting jammed, and am reluctant to buy a new one if the old one might be fixable.
DO NOT buy a new one, contact them and they will more then likely send a new one out. mine snapped (plastic step part) it comes with lifetime warranty. 
Works great for the lawn but does anyone have any recommendations for what they use as a handheld version in e.g. flowerbeds (smaller)?
Yes one of these, they're a godsend. Kills weeds, aerates and landscapes all in one handy tool.
- You are better off using a weed and feed so that you don't have that many weeds in the first place.
I have this tool and its great but I hardly ever need to use it now. Plus the big holes requires seeding which is a bit off a faff.
Any recommendations? 
Two years ago, I bought a non-Fiskars one from Amazon, still going strong. Unfortunately, the order link does no longer work and I cannot seem to find it on amazon
Works great but it leaves an obvious extraction mark that the local squirrels think means there's something buried there recently so they dig it up and ruin the lawnSounds more like gophers to me
Does the job well ,but be prepared for it to leave big holes from the extraction all over your lawn .
Fill with sharp sand for drainage.

The greatest tool ever made.Really? I know it's a good brand and have bought various Fiskar products before but I need something to pull small and bigger weeds from paving brick joints. I'll need to use weedkiller also as 1000s of them.
Edit: I see it won't work on brick paving ah well (edited)

Had mine a few years now and still works a treat, very good tool for removing dandylions.
Dandelions are the worst 😹- I have this - its amazing. I did manage to break it on. a particularly large weed in some very hard soil. but got a free replacement
