1L of something similar in B&Q and can pick it up even cheaper if you look around, so not that great a deal IMHO.

Edit: can't post a link to it because B&Q are banned apparently... Musnt be willing to pay the kickback to HUKD...

Just search Bostik Black Multi-purpose waterproofer, 1L Tin

That's for a tin of bitumen whereas the deal is for rubber, so I don't think they are comparable.

Anyone smarter than me have an idea if this would work on the inside of a whisky barrel that’s used as an ice bath or will the chemicals leak and turn me into an avenger?

Thing is you're coating wood, and these car products are for metal. If anything I'd probably try a ceramic spray coating rather than a wax as it will be harder and won't break down as easily. Go for one that doesn't contain any nasties. I think AG Rapid Ceramic is fairly innocuous, can't say if if will achieve what you're looking for on wood though

thanks op got one from ashton hoping to fix a hot tub with it

Not sure it'll work mate. If it's the same as the one I have, it never really dries to make it start flexible, so if it's inside your hot tub, you'll come out covered in it.
