£20 or lower and I'll bite. I don't mind waiting another year or so.

Mad that it was £25.00 everywhere until the psvr2 patch and then shot back up to nearly £70.00!!!!!

I thought this had stinking reviews during release because of the P2W aspect and in-game currency being very slow to earn? Did they patch some improvements?

It did initially and the game got massively review bombed because of the bulsh.

    - Daily Roulette tickets aren't as random as it makes it out to be, the prize you win is already determined before you open them to spin - basically making the whole thing a complete farce.
    - One of the most expensive cars is 20 million credits, meaning if you were to purchase said car with real money, it costs around £160-£200 in in-game credits.
    - Payouts for races are pretty terrible.
    - When there's server maintenance, the whole game is essentially inaccessible besides the Music Rally (think game with time-checkpoints but to the beat of music)
    - Kazunori removed some money glitches because his poor excused of "...and if possible would like to try to avoid a situation where a player must mechanically keep replaying certain events over and over again" - literally one of the core mechanics of GT series since forever - re-race/earn money/buy car.
    - Certain upgrades or cars are locked behind the roulette/ticket system with no other way to acquire the i.e. engine swaps, invitations to purchase Pagani/Bugatti/Ferrari/Aston Martin super cars.

Still needs a lot of work though:

    - BoP/Races with limitations means not all cars are eligible for races or even have their own category of races.
    - MTX is still a thing (I can predict 9/10 which prize I'm going to get)
    - Local 2 player is still really broken.
    - 3 "new" cars every update - I say "new", the update that rolled out today is basically an existing car but with a different livery.
    - Sophy AI is yet to be fully released - they had a beta a few months ago but was only for a few days.

I've put in almost 300hrs on the game (a fair bit of those were for said money glitches because f... MTX) but it's still a great racing game for the PS5. Experience might be different to those starting out now and I can definitely see the insane grind needed to purchase some of the more expensive cars.

I think the 'grind' is what make these games good. Pay to play aka, pay to win is what makes many modern games ....

It's the best one in years.

The computer cars still drive around like soulless drones, though. Makes it feel stale fast.

Ive got the PS4 version of this game. If i play it on the PS5 console will it just run in the PS4 mode? Would there be a way to 'upgrade' to the PS5 version without buying the PS5 version of the game?
    Moroccan07's avatar
Look on the case it if it says free upgrade if it doesn't you usually have to pay for the upgrade which is usually £10

I'd love to play this, but would only get 1-4 hours a week. Is there any way to unlock interesting cars to play a bit without either grinding hours and hours of time or spending actual real cash?

Not familiar with the game hence the above question - I have no idea.

Cars unlock quickly. It's not a big grind.
