Had this watch for 5+ years with a champagne dial. Has an ETA movement. Cracking watch - lovely size (feels smaller tan 42mm) and just a lovely everyday wearer.

I think it looks really understated and classy. Bracelet is lovely with a nice milled clasp. Utter bargain at this price point and I'm tempted to pull the trigger on this one and get the black dial version.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! But it is a very bland boring looking watch!

Don't see the aviation link without being a chrono. Subjective but also I feel the numerals look very stretched.

All in all a pretty dull watch imho.

The chronographs were used for racing, starting in the 70s when there were no electronic devices to time the cars. You could even use the tachometer on the bezel to determine the speed of a car from the sideline.

Historically the pilot watches started with the German flieger watches, which were very large (55 mm case to be worn on top of the pilot jacket), with large luminous numerals and hands, so that they can be used in the dark. They also had a triangle at 12 o’clock so that you could determine the watch pointing the right way.

Today, from a functionality point of view, pilot watches are considered the ones made by Citizen or Breitling, where you can swap between time zones, or the IWC ones from a vintage design perspective.

Is sapphire coated different to sapphire crystal?

It's just a bad description. It's sapphire crystal.

£400 for a swiss watch is an absolute bargain

The terms ‘Swiss Made’ on the dial do not mean it’s 100% made there, especially for entry level brands like Hamilton, Tissot or Certina.
The movements are assembled by robots and the cases, bracelets/ straps are made in Asia.

Very generic looking watch. Could find better options with more style and better design

I used to think the same about the Rolex explorer … the beauty is in its simplicity. Love a simple grab and go these days. Something that works for any situation. Trip to beach. Smart evening out. Etc
