Hmm, I have an older HP I may well trade in for this as its getting on a bit. Will do some digging tonight.

Tempted myself. But my i5 8440p HP elite book is not a well machine, a few non functioning buttons and f12 has taken a walk ... trade in value could be painfully low (lower than selling it on flebay)

Anyone got thoughts on the Lenovo ...has it's own cashback but no trade in obv

looking for a laptop, i bought the one from lighting deal refurbed lenovo g500 and it was broken so I think this will work for me. i only really use a laptop for browsing and downloading.

Looks like a great deal to be honest. Very Very temped.

Great deal op, heat added.

Fantastic deal. Possible 2.02% cash back from Topcashback too.

We use these at work, overall a very sturdy laptop. Screen quality is good and viewing angles are decent, solid keyboard and track pad. Worth picking up.

On HP website its says the following below, in other words 2. businesses and organisations Doesn't this suggest it doesn't apply to consumers, but further down their page "individual" is mentioned. In 3. not to be combined with any other promotion, i.e. may be not the £75 in the OP post above???? Just seeking clarification.

2. The promotion is open to businesses or organisations operating in mainland UK and Northern Ireland only.

3. This offer may not be combined with any other promotion.

Btw, do any brand of tablet qualify for £150 cashback irrespective of their price value?

Afternoon rgayabintboujdir,

We've had clarification from HP that individual consumers are able to claim the offer and both offers can be claimed in conjunction with each other.

Thanks

dabs.com team, Thank you very much for your reply. What about the value of the tablet, would one qualify for the £150 cash irrespective of it price? TIA

topcaty, thanks to you too, btw.

I'm never buying HP again. They mix decent components with some really crappy ones which are susceptible to failure.

It's £16 for a keyboard for a 8440p, still a decent machine even in Core 2 Duo form. Very easy to change the keyboard as well.

Helpful response but can you answer this:

Item 6 of Trade up to HP Terms & Conditions (link) states:
"...Your Trade-in must be no more than 6 years old (age limitations are not applicable to genuine Microsoft XP computers) and complete with all accessories including working battery and power supply where applicable."

In Trade Up to HP FAQ (link) it restates this:
"If you are trading in a Microsoft XP computer the age restriction does not apply but it must have a valid Certificate of Authenticity (COA) affixed."

Have I understood this correctly: provided the trade-in device is working and a "genuine Microsoft XP" computer (i.e. has COA affixed) then it can be more than 6 years old to be eligible for this promotion?

I was drawn to this clause too. But, if the £75 promotion is cashback that is redeemable after the purchase, then that should still mean £145 (max.) back through the trade-in? I.e. £300 - £10 (if that code still works) / 2 = invoice price = £145

Just ordered for £289.98 - Thanks OP my nephew will be thrilled! Hope all the cashback pays, I've taken a screenshot of dabs page confirming the offer is open to individuals just in case!

Bargain if it all works out

I have an old hp laptop, very slow, very hot, only works on mains as battery died some time ago.
Reading t&c on trade ins, it states £20 will be deducted for
'battery worn out' ??

could you buy a new non branded 10 inch tablet from ebay and use it for trade-in?

Forgive me for being dim, but am I correct in thinking that I'll get £150 trade-in for my hp touchpad tablet - assuming it's in good quality?

So, I did a bit of digging and it seems the faster processor version A8-7100 is also available on the HP cashback websites. The SKU is G6W45EA . It is on at dabs for 329.80 but dabs haven't posted all the info about the cashbacks on it as they have fewer to shift I guess. The CPU benchmark score for this is 2991 as opposed to the A6 Pro-7050B which 1838. So for 30 quid extra you get a faster CPU and no problems with the 50% max value cashback. I have just bought one of each. I use HP cashback promotions every so often and find it reliable if a little slow. Heat added thanks OP!

Might look at getting this for the mother-in-law, she's got an old 17" XP laptop but need to check it still has the COA label on it and that it's readable. Do you recon it's worth paying the extra £30 for the A8-7100? she's only using it for web browsing, emails and copying her photos to it from her camera, she doesn't do any photo editing.

I would stick with the original offer for that usage profile.

How can I check to ensure my laptop is under 6 years old?

Thanks, may go for that one myself. I have an A8 3500M at the min but its getting on a bit, didn't fancy getting a new laptop with similar performance.

Do I need this laptop? NO
Do I need toshiba tablet? NO
Have I ordered them even if I own decent ones? YES
Total 399.7 (with Toshiba Encore 2 Windows tablet for 99 which gives you 25 off with CAKE25 voucher)
thanks to poster

Does anyone know if I need to say exactly what I am trading in when I register the trade up details? Only have an old Asus with broken casing and another with a cracked screen so I might buy a cheap tablet to trade in?

My laptop is 6 years and 1 month old......dooooh...

I think there's a date in system information. It says BIOS date on mine, don't know if that's it? Not very techy sorry.

I went on C drive, Windows and sorted by date and the OS files were installed in July 2009, which I'm guessing is when it rolled off the production line?
