Are we paying extra for the limited edition paint? What's the difference with the regular ls50 that can be picked up for £469 less?

these are the powered/active wireless speakers, the standard ls50s are passive and require amplification etc

the mark 2 ls50 wireless are c£2.5k, I'm guessing these are probably the older mark1s with ltd edition paint

these speakers are like 6 years old so not sure where they have had them (edited)

Buy second hand for £650. KEF will repair any second hand speakers if they break. Mine went bang after 1 month of buying a really old pair off ebay and they took them in and upgraded them with new boards and the new amp modules and shipped them back for only a £120 inspection fee. Buy used with KEF as they look after their reputation and go way way beyond any warranty to keep their name!

They must expect people like me to spread this info. The lady in KEF returns UK is absolutely amazing for service and reassurance.

Makes me laugh on here ...people go mad for 5 grand watches..£1000 iPhones .400 quid vaccum cleaners and all sorts of other bumpth...but when it comes to something hi-fi..guitar etc it's slated unless it's cheap as chips

Each to their own ..and I'm not well off at all...but if you not interested in 1500 quid speakers ....
Nothing for you to see here...move along (edited)

Completely agree. Ford Fiestas getting super heat at 20 grand, JVC TVs getting heat at 400 quid when every comment says they break. The quirks are endless. So yes, this probably deserves a bit more heat.

Monstrously ugly, straight out of a teenagers bedroom circa 2001

It's great to see that the artist clearly behind all those winamp skins in the 2000s went onwards and upwards.

At this price, the feel and general ambience of the equipment does play a part.....

And DAMN, that is an ugly graphic / paint job!!

With the KEF app, these are a great upgrade over SONOS or similar, you can stream music from amazon and other services straight to speaker. Its not well advertised at all by KEF.

I guess it depends what you are looking for. I’ve gotten really into spatial audio music. I did have my eye on the new version of these but having using spatial audio/Atmos music I was torn. Sonos sent me a 40% off code this week so just swapped out my Q100s and REL T Zero sub linked to Sonos sub for a pair of Era 300s. I know my setup could be classed as budget vs the LS50s wireless 2 but excluding the Sonos amp it cost about £1K and £1.5K with the amp back in the day and have seen the wireless 2 on offers. There are some horrible spatial audio tracks like living on a prayer or some that I’ve not been impressed by at all but others like Money by PF, Drive by REM and Money for nothing are unbelievable. For me personally with the discount code it made it the right decision but I totally get the appeal of the KEFs as a friend has them on the stands with a projector and I’ve demoed them as well. Yeah I've had kef's over the years ..only had one thing go wrong and that was a huge kef sub ..board went

probably the wireless thing aside ....people who know more than me that will say when it comes to speaker manufacturing not much has changed over the years so buying older gen ...second hand etc is not a biggy (edited)
