Great price for a budget holiday at Lake Garda. Flights and a week stay in Eurocamp included! I have added a 20kg bag to the flights, as think it's kind of a must, but optional to add further baggage. The park is about 15 miles from the airport, quite close, but would have to factor in transfer costs. This is one of the more popular/expensive parks in this region. Various dates in October at similar prices, using 3rd to 10th as an example.

Big hearted Bella Italia is alive with possibilities, brimming with facilities and dedicated to bring the fun
Bella Italia lies on the south eastern tip of Lake Garda, at the start of the ‘Olive Tree Riviera’, and offers a beautiful holiday location for active families.

You couldn’t pick a place more perfect for kids who love fun and anyone who loves sightseeing. There is direct access to the lakeside beach, although the fabulous pool complex with its four pools (including children's pool, lagoon pools and waterslides) offers loads of fun for all ages. At weekends throughout June, July and August, the ‘animatore’ provides a variety of entertainment too! Off parc, the cycling path between Mantova and Peschiera (also within walking distance) runs past the entrance. Then, after a busy day, you can feed your hunger in the superb restaurant, which offers wonderful views of the lake.

Why you’ll love this parc
  • Fabulous pool complex with kids' and lagoon pools
  • Head out and about to discover Verona, Milan and Venice
  • Enjoy dinner with a view at the parc restaurant

Stayed for a week here. Visited Milan, Venice and Verona. Has a lidl walking distance.
My mistake was I flew to Venice as it was cheaper but the trains are expensive. Probably spent £70 (2019) for return trains to Venice airport. Was not worth the hassle as probably broke even. I didnt know Verona airport was an option when booking. The English reps at the park all said they fly to Venice as much cheaper but agreed its hassle.

Verona train station is about 10 minutes away. You should fly to Verona and catch a train to peschiera del garda station (edited)

If you book in advance (max is around 6 months) or take the regional trains (less comfortable, but only 20 to 30 minutes slower with a fixed price that cannot sell out) to/from Venice you will pay about €20 per person - in fact I have booked a one way ticket this year, booked well in advance, in business class which cost €12.90 each (£22.63 for 2). We love the trains in Italy. Also there is no train to Venice airport.

If cost is a priority, the cheapest way is likely a flight to Bergamo & a Flixbus to Peschiera or Verona (if you can time it correctly), then a local bus (the Verona to Brescia bus will drop you literally at the front gate, as will the Malcesine to San Benedetto, but I can't recall where it stops near the station - you might have to walk down to the Esso petrol station).

Highly recommended. Been here and it's a lovely site with direct access to the lake at the back of the site.

we stayed in venice for a few days then drove here for a week and its was a nice easy drive.

Only downside was that at the beginning and end of the season not all pools are open. worth a check with them if thats important to you before you go.

Bella Italia is wonderful - about a 20 minute dander along the lake to the nearest town. Good (relatively speaking) bus links (hourly at worst, probably only until about 6 or 7pm come October). Can get some very decent weather (obviously not guaranteed).

Fly to Milan and get the train to lake Garda, would be much cheaper flights. We stayed in Milan and the trains were excellent, frequent and cheap!
Gardaland theme park is also worth a visit.
    jnm21's avatar
Not cheap to stay in Milan - I learned that the hard way - as I did that bergamo is certainly not really near Milan! A bit like calling East Midlands airport Nottingham!

Might be worth looking at cheap Ryanair flights via Bergamo, if you can't get Verona flights for your preferred dates. There's plenty of choice and availability from around £12.
Not as close as Verona, but closer by train than Venice which has been mentioned above.
Bergamo is also well worth a visit.
    jnm21's avatar
Well pointed out, but while Bergamo might be closer by train, it is a PITA - you must get a bus to town, train to either Trivilgio or Brescia - do not get off in Rovato, it is a very small station, much better to change in Brescia - then a train to Peschiera or Verona, both of which will require either a taxi or a bus. My recommendation is a Flixbus as I detailed above (after your comment, but before I saw it). i would personally try the bus between the airport & Brescia over the train.

We went to Bella Italia a couple of years ago during October half term. It was still mild during the day but quite chilly in the evenings. We were drawn to the resort by the flashy images of the pool but when we arrived we were told the pool was not open that late in the season. We had a great time exploring Sirmione, Malcesine, Lazise, boat trips to Limone, train to Verona, cable car at Monte Baldo. Stunning part of the world and would go back in a flash but don't go if you think you'll be able to lounge around the pool. (edited)

Fly to Bergamo or Verona and hire a car. Easy to get about and often car hire can be found at reasonable rates, especially that time of year.

I have struggled the last few years - where do you book? In 2019 I got lucky & got over 2 weeks for about £35! Now struggle to get 2 weeks for 10 times that!

I always get excited when I see these deals pop up for 2 adults 2 kids then realise they’re always outside of the school holidays
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
Just leave the kids home alone.

I visited lake Garda on a day trip from Verona last October. There were no ferries or boats running as it was close season and there was a lot of fog. In fact, our flight was diverted from Verona to Milan due to fog. It's not a great time to visit, from my experience

Looks like the average temperature around Lake Garda is 18 degrees in October, so might not be the best time for a pool holiday.
Close to both Milan, Bologna and Venice though, which is nice.
    blahblahblah1234's avatar
Average maximum is 22C at the start of October, dropping to 15C towards the end.
Could easily be in shorts and t-shirt for much of the month.

Remember that's the average, there will be a wide variation. You could get lucky.

List of places looks good for when you're tired of sploshing.
Add to the list, Padua, Bergamo, and Verona.
And not forgetting the many beautiful towns and villages dotted around the lake.

If you were to hire a car, is there parking at this Bella Italia park ? Any idea how much it might cost, if at all ?

Think it's free, park next to your caravan or in the park
  13. letterboxfortom's avatar
    how about no kids? 👀
    axum's avatar
That's what i would be doing, just use the park as a base/simple accommodation etc..

Highly recommend renting a car, especially if travelling via Bergamo. Transfers and taxis and very expensive, and a car will give you the freedom to explore the lovely towns around the lake. The ferries are great but also expensive and many stop running from October.
  15. 123sonny123's avatar
Love Garda. Took the ferry to different towns . Mrs loved Riva as it's at the northern, 'higher' end' with great landscapes. As mentioned above, check the ferries etc. are running!

Anyone recommend similar sites to Lake Garda (apart from Como) in Europe?
We are going to Madeira for, hopefully, equally good scenery and walking in October, but stuck for future trips. Don't really like cities.

Just got back from 10 days in Peschiera, really well connected to Verona, Milan and Venice for day trips. Really nice town, we stayed on del Garda village which was really doable without car hire. Bella italia was a but further out of the town and up hill so, so worthwhile noting. I think swim caps were compulsory in the pool at Bella italia too, which would be a deal breaker for us.

the weather is massively unpredictable there as well had every possible Type of weather apart from snow, with the worst hail storm in years causing quite of a
    lot of damage.
    deleted2936900's avatar
May I ask why having to wear swim caps would be a deal breaker

Where do they expect you to wear them?
