Each to their own. I can't take dairy, so all I get is 'dark' choc stuff all the time. A little lighter for me is better.

It's good stuff. Works well in brownies and chocolate cakes etc.

Been the same price in Aldi for a while now if you shop there instead

    This is alkalized.

All cocoa powder is dark. If you mean the colour, dutch processed cocoa like this will be darker and taste milder - alakalizing it removes some of the acidity and bitterness.

Much better to get non alkalized raw organic cocoa powder, such as Sevenhills from Amazon etc.

Otherwise for something cheaper and more mainstream, Green & Black's cocoa powder is at least organic, and comes in a nicer container. (edited)

What's the point of paying extra for organic when you are exposed to air pollution daily.

ASDA's is £1.29 same price I have owned both and found Lidls darker and better taste for making cakes.

I always add a bit of instant coffee diluted in hot water to my chocolate cake. Just a tip.
