LXT Lithium-Ion battery and optimum charging system produces 280 percent total lifetime work with 2x more cycles. 5x Lower self-discharge keeps battery cells active and ready for use, even after long periods of storage.

Charging at any time will have no effect on the battery. Built-in shock absorbing features protect the battery. Sixteen firm holding contact terminals reduce the risk of power loss/fluctuation in high vibration work environments.

Battery's built-in Memory Chip communicates with the charger to maximize battery life using 3 Active Controls (Current, Voltage & Thermal). Battery suitable for all Makita li-ion LXT 18 volt machines.

Fare price but a shame there so bulky for a 3.0ah.

Bought two 1.5ah via a rect deal here to try with my trim router for more easier handling during delicate work without the heft of the 5ah, and they have been excellent power wise. Though of course run times on each are short but not much of an inconveience to swap one whilst other is charging. My routing has gotten more refined too

I had a 3Ah battery that was years old and stopped charging even though it wasn't used much. I contacted them and they said they'd replace it for free, which they did after testing it. Got a 4Ah back as a replacement. Worth while contacting them if one of their batteries has died and hasn't been abused. They'll replace for free.

What they wouldn't look at were the 2 Makita batteries I bought off of eBay due to them not being manufactured in the EU.

The batteries have chips inside that collect data on how often they're charged/used. etc, to help troubleshoot faulty batteries. :-)

Edit: When I said "them", I was referring to Makita UK. :-) (edited)

I just 'love' the claim of '280% total lifetime work'

If that phrase isn't meaningless tosh, I don't know what is!

Seen it listed elsewhere, with the better-written (though still unsubstantiated) claim:

“This genuine UK product is designed to ensure a substantial increase in workload capabilities, delivering a 280 percent improvement in total lifetime work and achieving twice the cycles compared to standard batteries.”

Between the two I guess the assertion is that the battery tech and clever battery management gives it significantly more usable life than some other unspecified batteries which aren’t made to fit your LXT tools anyway (unless we’re talking about compatibles maybe). (edited)

Same seller has the 1.5ah singly and a twin pack, not bad price with the code

This might sound abit silly but could I put these into say a 12v 90 degree drill or would that be too much power to burn it out if it did fit

Doubt it will physically fit, additionally it is not recommended as the drill could overheat & damage with prologed use.

Just bought a twin pack of waitley 18v 5.0ah batteries on amazon. They are £39 with 20% off at the moment so work out £16 a battery. Bit of a punt with non oem batteries but thought it was worth it at that price. (edited)

I think they're prob the best tested! fake ones & not bad, but from ppls experience no match for original genuine Makita which can last many years with continued pro use. (edited)
