    Yep, LXT batteries are really versatile, so many cheap compatible tools besides the ones that Makita offers.
    I bought a cheap Makita knock-off angle grinder for example.

    would you not be better buying the 3x5.0 batts in the other post for £180 instead if your already a Makita man and paying the extra £30 and getting a 3rd batt rather than a throw away drill and slow charger?

    I guess it depends what your needs are. If you have quite a few batteries already then an extra charger, regardless how fast it is, still charges. I have a throw away drill that I use for crappy jobs, I know it'll probably get battered and covered in crap. (edited)
