The Ensi Mid GORE-TEX Walking Boot from Mammut is shaped like a trainer, which means it performs at its peak when worn by people who like to be springy and bouncy on their feet through the fields.
GORE-TEX Upper
A GORE-TEX upper on the Ensi Walking Boots ensures the boots are durably waterproof combined with optimised breathability offering enduring weather protection. Water stays on the outside while perspiration can easily escape from the inside, thanks to their non-insulated construction they are the ideal solution for people who value outstanding climate comfort and heat release. This mid-cut walking boot is designed for hikers and backpackers attempting to stay light on their feet.
The upper boasts extreme comfort thanks to the soft, double layer engineered mesh that is enriched with a TPU elements for superb durability and protection from unseen trail hazards. Offering heel support, the shaped TPU ankle support is designed for the anatomy of the heel bone which it aims to completely envelop. This in turn delivers the optimum heel fit, helping prevent twisted ankles and further protecting you against rock abrasion.
Furthering the waterproofing on the boot is an elastic GORE-TEX tongue construction ensuring that water can't get in from the top either keeping all parts of your feet well protected. A rubber toe cap protects the forefoot providing durability for tougher terrain while a traditional lacing system helps to lock the foot down to prevent excessive movement.
EVA Midsole
Mammut have used an EVA midsole providing you with excellent cushioning throughout. They have strategically mapped out a variety of dense EVA in the midsole of the boot giving you the correct amount of support in key areas. The layer which resides under the toe offers the sensitivity needed to keep the forefoot well protected. A cushioned Strobel construction insole is another unique technology specific for Mammut, ensuring you have an individual fit as well as cushioning for the feet at the instep, shin and ankle giving you a plush feel.
Durable Rubber Outsole
A high durable performance rubber has been used to build the outsole to give you optimal grip on rocks and has been specially developed for approach boots. The strategically placed lugs on the outsole as well as the varying sizes of the lugs ensure you have the traction where you need it in specific places. Working together with the insole and the elements of the Upper, the Ensi aims to give you all the stability and protection required for technical terrains.

Over priced?
Can anyone recommend a good mid walking boot, gortex that is OK to wear in summer?
My 1st walking boots were Nike bandolier.....light, durable and very breathable...wish I bought a few pairs......
Adidas do a range, but they are overpriced.
