sorted byI had no issue with battery life and I think I put the device through pretty heavy usages. I am the type of person to whack it straight on a charger as soon as I get home though. Most of the bugs got ironed out with subsequent updates, only the occasional odd behaviour to do with screen rotation. This I think is because there's a gyro in each screen to handle the various postures and sometimes it gets confused.
I guess it's down to the individual but I often found having too screens extremely useful for when I'm trying to do something productive like working out expenses for an event. You can have information on one screen and a calculator on the other without having to switch back and forth between apps as I often struggle to remember long numbers.
I'd say I am a camera guy when it comes to picking my phones and there's no way to put this lightly. The camera on the Duo is pretty crap. I found you could sideload GCam onto the Duo which helped significantly with making photos better but it's still rather mediocre.
The hardware itself is amazing. I offended some people before by saying it but the Duo's approach of using two glass screens makes for a FAR more premium feeling device. The hinge feels amazing. The device is incredibly thin unfolded which makes it a more manageable thickness when folded.
I'd say if you've got the money kicking about right now, try it out. Costco have a 90 day satisfaction guarantee. If you're not happy with the device you can return it by post or just go to your local warehouse.
Edit: Added example of images with and without GCam and also image of using it to read manga (edited)
Enjoying it so far, running Android 11 with May security after updating.
The phone feels and looks top quality, premium packaging too!
It's quirky as it's not like a normal phone, once you get past that you will start to enjoy it and the things it can do that a normal phone can't!
Side fingerprint reader is quick! Battery seems good after set up.
What I love the most is the width of the screen, all phones these days are long and thin whereas this is wide so even if you are using it on a single screen it seems big?
Camera is basic so if you like your photography it's not for you.
Speaker is OK.
For the price I think it's a steal
I've got one, the software seems mostly fine to me, I very rarely have my screens swapping around if i fold it so both screens are on the outside or put into tent mode.
It's a fun device, it's not especially good as a phone, if you're looking for a new phone, it might be worth looking into something like a Poco for the same price, but it is a great productivity / everything else device.
I use mine for media consumption, so podcasts, films, kindle, comic books etc.
There however is also practically bugger all in terms of cases for it.

Don’t think they’ll restock, it’s old stock so probably moved all the remaining stock they had
Roughly 14 hours.
Also, can someone comment/help on a couple of above points?
Thanks

No one is asking you to buy it. Why you felt the need to make that comment is beyond me.
#sameboat and a fanboy too
It's £350 brand new with 2 years Costco warranty, are you for real? The second version is like £850, plus it comes with the notorious 888 chip prone to overheating.
Folding glass: how, why, and the truth of Samsung’s Z Flip - The Verge
"Frankberg thinks that’s probably why Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip still has a plastic screen protector up top. Not to prevent scratches or help it bend more easily, but as a “sacrificial layer” that gets scratched instead of the glass, so there are fewer potential catastrophic cracks down the road. “Probably they receive fewer product returns due to the extra layer,” he speculates."
"Frankberg isn’t yet convinced. “My honest opinion as a materials scientist: I wouldn’t buy these kinds of phones at this stage because the size of the scratch you need to break it is very very small,” he says, pointing out how a single grain of sand could destroy a folding glass screen. “Buying a very expensive phone, I would step back and see how the technology improves.”"
Also the yields on these display are crap hence the price tag. With the Fold 1 display which was supposedly easier to produce than the new UTG display they has more fail than were successful. I'll repeat, the technology isn't mature enough yet. The only saving grace is they offer a replacement when they spontaneously fail. Still have to put up with a plastic cover screen though. But you do you dude.
Duo 2 has been out for about 6 months and is currently on sale at Curry's for £849. Duo 3 isn't expected until 2023 at the earliest. This discount is probably to dump old stock. (edited)
Some people don't care about these updates at all. Hence why. If something ain't broken, why fix it.
I can live with the rest of the compromise’s. (edited)

Can i suggest that if you have a 12v socket in you car then try and power it off that with something similar to this
USB C Car Charger, Anker 30W 2-Port Type C Fast Car Charger with 18W Power Delivery and 12W PIQ, PowerDrive PD 2 with LED for iPhone 11 / 11 Pro / 11 Pro Max / XS/Max/XR/X, Pixel, iPad Pro, and More amzn.eu/d/b…LfQ
I personally would recommend using conservative wattage where possible ie 15-30w where possible as I believe, high watt charge may reduce the life of the battery long term. I am no expert so please don't troll me.
When I'm at home I use my 5w brick to charge when I am not in a hurry, even though my xiaomi came with a 15w brick. I think you get my jist.

Reviews not always great and not 100% sure will fold back on itself totally but will offer decent protection for now. Will post impressions once it arrives in a couple of days time
Cheers Ben
That was from a year ago. The software is much more stable now.
They're laminated with plastic and feel cheap. There's not a lot more to say about that. That's forgetting their fantastic ability to spontaneously shatter along the fold
In my opinion the right way to do foldables is two separate screens. It's far better for multitasking and you don't have to faff around with software for split screen. Sure the Duo 1 wasn't perfect but I was talking about the Duo concept as being superior. Also I could buy 4 Duos with money to spare for the same price of a single Fold 3.
No. It has a plastic screen protector fitted as stock. Removing that screen protector doesn't void you warranty but greatly increases your chance of a crack/shatter. This is because UTG screens are prone to shattering. Also the process of removing the screen protector itself has a significant risk of shattering the screen. So in essence the screen protector is mandatory hence a plastic screen.

I even saw a tech reviewer on Twitter saying they'd left their Fold in a draw for a few months since it wasn't their daily driver and by the next time they went to use it it had shattered down the crease.
Frankly the technology just isn't there yet for foldable displays. It's subpar to normal displays in every way imaginable. (edited)
