Is the RAM upgradable on this model?

    This isn't a Zen 4 processor. It's Zen 3, a 5600u with a slight bump up in clock speed.

Fixed RAM but still a lot of computer and performance for the money. Probably a winner in the sub-£400 laptop class.

    Arrived this afternoon.

Good timing, son back from uni with a broken laptop so needed something quickly and preferably cheap.

He is busy setting it up. So far he seems happy.

Nice size and light enough to carry around.

Seems nippy enough. Office and chrome work fine. I think he is going to put Adobe suite on there later so can report back.

First thing I noticed is keyboard layout, claims to be UK, but it is not ISO. £ symbols and such like in right spots but it is just a bit off. And has a small return key.

ASUS and MSI are awful for this hybrid UK format keyboard thing, I have no idea why but it's very annoying.

The main drawback of the MSI is the soldered 8gb ram. you should be looking at 16gb at any price point. If not save until you can afford a 16gb ram laptop.

    8GB is fine.

    BIG problem !!!

Small battery and 8GB fixed RAM, but it's cheap, can't have everything. For the money, a nice laptop.

This should get hot, good deal!

With all the errors and omissions in the listing and lack of reviews, it's like there's a massive rush to flog these before the rozzers arrive.
    All a bit T.I.T.

Is this any good for Photoshop?
    fiqqer's avatar
8gb ram means no - especially if you are dealing with 4k resolution.

The real issue here is about load & resource; no single amount of RAM (or speed of CPU or size of drive) can be said to be enough, or be right, without knowing the use case.
