Been going down this rabbithole of research myself recently and came across this on Amazon. Technically it's a reasonably old model (early 22 i believe) but has a pretty unique combo of features (this build/style, with removeable 18650 and red lights is tricky to find!)
This is approx £30 cheaper than a lot of other places from a quick google.

OP, also check out the Sofirn HS20 as it sounds like it fits your exact needs too:

Sofirn HS20 Headtorch,Hands-Free Flashlight Up to 2700 Lumens with XHP50.2 & LH351D LED, Two Beam Patterns, Head Torch with 18650 Battery for Kids Adults, Running, Camping, Hiking amzn.eu/d/iBT1Ye9

I've only used it for a few hours before gifting to my brother but it held up really well compared to my Wowtac A2S (identical style to the HS40) - much better colour accuracy at 5000K, although it was noticeably heavier.

I use mine mostly for DIY/winter nights in the garden etc (edited)

    Cheers for this!
I took a pretty close look at the HS20, the HS40, the SP20 etc and the other little variants but didn't go for them in the end due to lack of features really. turns out i wanted a specific combination of features all for a non-eye watering price. I was very tempted by the Sofirn offerings and some of the other similar brands at their prices.
I didn't like the tube/90degree design on some of them, i also wanted dedicated LEDs for spot/fill. I also wanted red light as I get so annoyed with the bugs when camping and blinding friends too. I also kinda wanted big-brand reputation and warranty etc so was more tempted by offerings at least available on the main websites rather than using Aliexpress etc.
I also want it for camping this weekend so Prime swayed it for me haha

I absolutely was not looking at HC65 v2 realms/prices, and was about to buy a NU33 or NU43 (despite not having removeable 18650?!) due to being more affordable - but then randomly saw the hc68, and that it comes with what's meant to be a great battery too (worth around 20 by itself when looking, although i'm sure cheaper sanyo derived alternatives are available), and does everything I wanted.

The controllability of the hc68 looks good too with the UX.. Hopefully it's comfy and not too heavy, although i'm sure i'll get over it anyway - Camping and DIY user mostly!
