Nice drop of ale for a £1 is NBA the only ale sold by the pint most bottles seem to be 500ml

Warning: I tried to buy 25 (5 x 5 different beers for £25) in my local store but was refused at the till. I did notice the 20 item max warning on the shelf but assumed it was for each different beer, but apparently not! so I had to leave 5 bottles behind. Incidentally, anyone who likes Marstons beers could do worse that a trip to Aldi, they sell their own brand (Harpers Brewing Co.) Medusa Ruby Ale (5% abv) for £1.09. It's brewed exclusivly for Aldi by Marstons & it's one of my favorite lockdown tipples.

Pretty good price. These are quite often around the £1.25 mark at various shops so heat from me

I didn't realise it was brewed for them by Marstons. Thanks for the info, will give it a try.

Cheers OP. I always pick up a few ales when they are £1 in one of the supermarkets. Had to laugh at the suggested usual price of £1.75 though. Who ever pays £1.75 for any of these?

Old Speckled Hen by far the best here imo it's a beautiful ale!

Spitfire the best name, shame it's s/**** ale

Ah Cheung Kong Old Speckled Hen - the best Chinese beer in the UK! Amusing that the Chinese now own not only MG Cars, but also MG Cars Inspired beer..! Mind you, Marstons is Danish now... RIP UK Brewers..

The Old crafty hen or King Goblin are probably the nicest but not on the list
