"open heart" watches tend to be a bit of flair to a bad movement/watch. Not being snobby but you could get a better watch for the money. It's very common on Chinese "OEM" style watches, bought in bulk from Alibaba and the logo is added separately. Probably does alright as a dress watch.

Probably because it is a dress watch?

You ARE being snobby but you're being the worst kind of snobby in that you're also ill-informed.

This watch is made with Orient's in-house F6T22 which is an in-house Orient Movement (Made in Japan). Rated to +20/-15 Seconds. It's not a Chronograph, nonetheless these movements are often reported (including by me) to be factory-calibrated to be well within +5/-5 and are well known for being some of the best movements available in the price bracket. Easily regulated and serviced, you cannot do better in the price bracket.

The likes of Orient/Seiko don't buy in bulk from AliExpress...they sell TO AliExpress brands (nothing wrong with most of these by the way - see San Martin, Pagani Design, SteelDive etc. for details who put established brands to shame with their finishing/overall package) as the well-respected OEMs of the workhorse movements inside (especially Orient's sister company Seiko with their NH35A and derivatives)

The Orient Bambino is known and loved by watch enthusiasts for being hands down the best Dress Watch for under ~$1000 and this Open Heart version is a great example as to why (at a good price).

As someone who owns hundreds of watches and dozens of dress watches (including examples from Rolex, Blancpain, Cartier, JLC), Orient earn every right to be in that esteemed company especially with the Bambino and their Divers (eg. Kamasu)

You claim you can get a better watch for the money and I don't see any suggestions...

Here's a challenge...find me a better Mechanical (Automatic + 40hr Power Reserve) Dress Watch than the Orient Bambino for under $200 that is as attractive, serviceable and respected.

    I'll wait.
