What's the difference between this and the black one recently posted?

This won't mark pale items as much.

Ox sell one with an apartheid head, one sides black, ones white. It's useful to allow you to tap stuff like furniture /flooring. I found the white side seemed to disintegrate faster though. Could be as I was using it to tap out old click lock on an angle though.

There's a deal on the black headed version for about £3 as well.

Is this OK to use to put in a ground spike for a Rotary Airer into the lawn?
    miffyl's avatar
It will be with a block of wood over the spike otherwise it will destroy the head of the mallet.
If that's all you want it for, buy the black one.

Is the Amateur version cheaper? TIA

If you're doing delicate work and want to avoid damage, a white rubber mallet is better. For heavy-duty tasks requiring significant force as in the song, a metal hammer like Maxwell's Silver Hammer is more appropriate.

Black one is £1.16 cheaper for some reason.
