This looks awesome. But the Deck performance isn’t solved just yet - despite protonDB gold rating there seems to be plenty of performance issues.

I played the demo and found it pretty boring. It's not like you're exploring the world on your own. A big drawback and a no-go for me was that you can't save during a mission. So, you either lose all progress or have to play until you complete a mission.

It's not as bad as it sounds. You don't have to complete a mission to save progress, there are autosaves, just not in the quicksave / quickload way we are accustomed to in many other games.

Beyond the very start of the game missions will generally be multiple maps. The game autosaves progress when you enter a new map, so enter a map, quit out and you reload the game at the start of that map.

What you can't do is partially complete a map, quit out and expect to resume mid-map. Complete a map, progress to the next one and you are good to quit.

The oddity is that when you reload a map you don't get the same map twice. It generates the layout and what is there fresh with the reload. Reload enough times and you can get the same variant, but mostly you'll get something different.

Each map is different. Some you will only spend 5mins in, doing just enough to cross it, grab a few items and get out - you wanted to get to a later map anyway. Others you may want to spend 30mins collecting every item you can - it's up to you.

There are also a ton of customisable options in the settings, some of which effectively give you a save and get out of here immediately (turn off penalty for quitting a level, you return to the garage with car intact and all loot. Up to you if you turn the penalties back on later).
