Great if you live at number 56 snagsby avenue….

(sorry it’s the rules on HUKD whenever this comes up)

    Wheely bad joke.
    Load of rubbish.
    Bin done before.

I used to use a marker pen and write my house number and street on the bin lid, but after a few weeks the rain would wash it off. Solution? I wrote it instead INSIDE on the bin lid, hasn't needed rewriting it since!

We USED to have a bin but now council has taken it away. Only green garden bins are in show around the area, which many people avoid paying extra by putting away garden waste with domestic waste to save £50/60 a year!

Anyone know if these can these be used on other coloured bins other than green?
    FREEZIN_WOLF's avatar
    No they can't.
Even if the bin has slight variation from its original pantone the bin will reject it, like the parent rejects a newborn animal with a human scent. (edited)

I wouldn’t put a number on my bin because if the council see something in the bin they shouldn’t you can deny it was yours.

Paid £1.55 a couple of weeks ago. Wonder if they'll refund the difference.

These seem to work really well, I drove down Snagsby Avenue the other day and there were about 400 various bins outside number 56.

'To apply sticker, peel off paper backing and stick onto clean smooth surface'

I wondered what I was getting wrong all these years.

Neighbour gets hers cleaned once a month. I try and steal it afterwards. Hope she hasn’t seen these stickers.

Someone stole my recycling wheelie bin recently. I was more baffled than annoyed because I got a replacement within 3 days.
    Also, the bin was full.

Sounds like they were doing you a favour.

The comments here are almost better than the offer

Why do you need to label your bin? Me and my swinging neighbours regularly exchange bins

Flip the bin upside down and write your number and postcode on the bottom of the bin .
    Steve2512's avatar
So, when your bin is going up at the back of the bin lorry and the bin men are enjoying the view, how are they going to see your number under the bin?

I wouldn't get these. You're literally advertising where you live! (edited)

Damn…..I should have thought of that whilst I commuted with my bins on the trains!

I just tipex my door number of the bin - no issues.

Sorry to be thick. I am an OAP i don't understand the Snagsbury Avenue joke. Is it possible to give a clue without getting banned ?

Usually when word is upside down or read backwards, but I cannot undestand this one. Thanks.

Pro tip 1: Stick your number on every bin in the street. Massively increase your capacity.
Pro tip 2: After a walkout, stick random numbers on bins up and down the street. Get your own back.

Anyone know where to buy a house number for a window?
I'm thinking of an opaque sheet of plastic, with the house number as a clear cutout. To be stuck on the inside of the glass (on the small window above the front door).
Not sure what to even search for!
It's a pity this company doesn't make them, as their bin stickers work well (and their other number options look good, at a good price.)

If that label is 15cm wide and covers around 3/4 of the width of the bin in the photo, it must be one of the smallest wheelie bins ever at around 8" wide.

    Great find. Thanks.

Imagine caring about a bin this much

You will care when someone nicks your bin and you have to pay £80 for a new one. You cant use your parents bins forever (edited)
