A lot of reluctance installing this app. I suggest this free site: ilovepdf.com
I still use it despite having Acrobat (handy for stripping passwords out of PDFs).

and anyone else considering an alternative to ilovepdf

I suggest checking out Stirling PDF (pdf.adminforge.de/)

It is the only multi-operational PDF tool that I have come across, which is free, open-source AND is locally hosted from a privacy/security perspective:

This is a powerful locally hosted web based PDF manipulation tool using docker that allows you to perform various operations on PDF files, such as splitting merging, converting, reorganizing, adding images, rotating, compressing, and more.

... Stirling PDF makes no outbound calls for any record keeping or tracking.

All files and PDFs are either purely client side, in server memory only during the execution of the task or within a temporay file only for execution of the task. Any file which has been downloaded by the user will have already been deleted from the server by that time.

My last 2 helpful comments were deleted in guessing because I think online services take a copy of the documents and hot deals don't want others to be aware. Bad form hot deals bad form.

Just be mindful of installing apps that require accessibility options enabled for special features.

There has been an influx of apps covertly downloading malicious payload with captures banking details when you use banking apps. They are nasty stuff.

You are also completely liable for any fraud.

ilovepdf.com, also they have a mobile app. By far the best free app to help you deal with all PDF related stuff.

Looks dodgy as heck. How did this get so much heat?

App cannot not convert a PDF to Word without internet access (i.e. on Airplane Mode). Most likely just a website wrapper for an unknown website collecting your personal PDFs for potential fraud. (edited)

Don't convert files that contains personal or sensitive infos. Google and Apple apps stores are like jungle.

Tips in this thread are a credit to helpful contributors & maybe product developers. Been over a decade since I had need to convert anything much but by golly I'm well prepped if need be. TYVM.

I just tried it with a simple musical score. Did not work at all.

Thought simply using Microsoft word is enough for this isn't it?

Think many still don't know they can just load it in word 🫣

I have deleted and agree with #BargainsUnlimited. I can only see 4 reviews with over 50,000 downloads (most of which probably happened in the last couple of days ) . Not dissing you OP just not for me.
