Ambilight
You'll be immersed in your favourite shows with the Ambilight feature on the Philips 65OLED806/12 65" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR OLED TV. The intelligent LEDs around three sides of the TV project coloured light onto your walls, and reacts to what's on the screen for even more atmosphere.

OLED
OLED technology brings you some of the very best viewing. As individual pixels can be switched on and off, it means your screen can show deep rich black and vibrant colour. There's even more detail lurking in the shadows, and HDR technology helps to adjust the brightness levels so you won't miss anything.

The P5 AI Picture Perfect Engine and Picture Quality processor work together to bring realistic colour and smooth motion to your viewing.

Ready for gaming
Featuring low latency HDMI 2.1 VRR port and FreeSync technology, you can experience smooth gaming on a large screen with superb colours and details. Plus, there's Ambilight's gaming mode which brings all the thrill right into the room.

Dolby technology
The 65OLED806 makes the most of Dolby technology to improve both sound and images. It supports Dolby Vision for bright colour and contrast, and Dolby Atmos for clear deep sound.

Google Assistant
With Google Assistant built into the TV, you'll be able to control it using just your voice - perfect if you can't find the remote. Control your smart home devices too - turn down the lights and find your favourite show with a few simple words.

Good deal actually better than the C1 unless you need 2 additional HDMI 2.1 ports. The reviews about the buggy software are outdated and supports full 4k 120hz VRR now after software updates. So the only cons have been addressed 👀 (edited)

This, the 65" LG C1 or the Philips 65OLED806/12?

I bought the 706 last year and 806 earlier this year, but the software was really buggy. The lip sync issues and sound cutting out constantly drove me nuts and they were returned. A new firmware was released just a few weeks ago which has resolved this, so should be the tv I hoped it was at the beginning.
I called Richer Sounds on Friday to try and price match, but they have no stock of the 65” left. They have 1x 77”, but it is a refurb so comes with a 1 year warranty only. The 856 which RS sold has the taller stand so I could sit my Sonos Arc in front without it getting in way of the screen, but I went ahead at this price and will compromise. I would wait for the 807 with the evo panel, but can’t justify another £600/8001000 when it becomes available.
    Thanks op, heated!

Sound cutting off is earc related? My Sony A8 has the same issue and it's a widespread issue, if Philips have sorted this brilliant!

I have a much lesser Philips but one thing I will say is that I would be hard pressed not to buy a TV with Ambilight again. It adds so much more.

Do you need a neutral wall for it to work? Im in a rental property with a bright pink wall behind the tv 😬

Soooooo tempted to upgrade my 705 to this. Can't actually see any comparisons in panel tech. Suspicion is that there is little to no diff save the update to the soc and p5 ai processor
    Luckyfrog's avatar
    Luckyfrog
Yh don't bother, would be a very minor upgrade unless you need HDMI 2.1 120HZ for gaming. Your 705 actually has the same 120hz panel as the 806 btw - test 1080p 120hz it will work 👀 but without the HDMI 2.1 ports you don't have the bandwidth for 4k 120. The p5 Ai processor would be a very minor upgrade. (edited)

Brilliant price. Been waiting/hoping for these to come down. Time for me to return my 65OLED936 (Which isn't getting a full 4K/120 update) for the £2300 I paid and get this for £1100 cheaper

I think your one has the LG EX (EVO) panel which means it's much brighter and longer lasting. The 806 doesn't so take that into consideration

Both great TVs but I'd say this is the one I'd go for (Having owned LG and Philips OLEDS). Some might want to factor in 2 Year Warranty with this particular deal against 5/6 Years on current C1 deals.

Unfortunately people will likely buy the LG Because they haven't experienced 'real' ambilight before and don't realise this TV is also has a higher peak brightness

C2 will be brighter and has great out of the box calibration for accurate colour.

Any issues with this tv? I really want the ambilight. I currently have LG 65E8 Oled and will be mostly using it for PS5 and watching sports.

Nah it had software issues but they've all been resolved now via software updates.
