    B2 vs C1 from a previous thread:

If you game then C1 by default for 120Hz BFI & 4x HDMI 2.1 ports compared to B2s 2x HDMI 2.1, 2x HDMI 2.0 ports and 60Hz BFI.

Input lag is better on C1 also.

For content watching, you can’t go wrong with either sets. B2 has slightly better viewing angles and can go a little brighter in SDR. HDR brightness is the same on both sets. Gradient handling is better on C1. As well as better sharpness in 480p content.

B2 stand is smaller, so it’ll take up less space and accommodate more types of table tops. (edited)

B2 can go 20%-30% brighter in SDR, which is significant.

I'm treating myself to a new TV for a big birthday coming up in July, it'll be only used for a PS5

I was waiting on a deal closer to the time on either a C1, C2 or CS at around this price point, seeing as I won't really need the extra HDMI 2.1's that the above TV's have over this particular model, is the B series as good as the C and if not, would someone please just give me some ideas as to the reason why.

Also, I know that we can never predict what the price drops will be over the next few months on any of the TV's mentioned, but is it likely that I'll get a better price than this on any model in the foreseeable future, this seems a great price for a very decent gaming TV

Appreciate the help, and nice find OP 🔥

In terms of image quality there is not much between C1/CS/B2.

CS is the best of the three but at £899-£999 is quite the step up, and it is not a massive improvement.

B2 at this price point is a no brainer when comparing the three, imo.

I have a 12 year old plasma which is a nice picture for watching freesat tv but I feel that freesat would not be as good a picture on an OLED screen like this one, I dont watch 4k content at the moment. Can an owner tell me if Freesat is better or worse.

The problem with plasma's (or at least my Panasonic) is they just go on and on and on, coming up 16 year's now and it hasn't put a foot wrong, not a single issue

Fair enough, when I watch live sports it's showing it's age but I honestly can't just ditch it for that reason alone

It did cost a absolute fortune at the time and was top of the range but what an amazing purchase it turned out to be, Panasonic knew how to build a telly, and when that time does eventually come that it goes to that great dump in the ground, I'd have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in grabbing another top end Panasonic, even if it costs a few pennies more.

In answer to your question- I don't really know, but considering how far technology has come since then, surely it's got to make a huge difference in the quality of freesat.

Everybody talking about gaming at 120Hz but how many games actually run at 120fps?

Unless you got a PC it's a pretty disappointing low number of games on console (edited)

You'd also need a pretty badass PC to run games in 4K at 120Hz. You're probably talking a £2.5k rig here.

C1 is the previous generation, C2 is the latest. CS is an in-between model which has a C1 panel and C2 processor.

Barclaycard have 7% cashback at Morrisons so I purchased JL vouchers there and got the telly. If cashback works out under £700. Thanks for posting AJ10

Same. I bought a second hand Panasonic 50" plasma 8 years ago for £110 and it's still going strong. I just can't justify an upgrade as the TV picture is still great. I game at 1080p and it's fantastic for that too.

I can now grab this at £719, of course as soon as I think that's it decision made I'm going for it, the deals start flooding in on C2's albeit at higher prices, but with freebies that can be sold on to reduce the final price overall.

I'll be honest, I really don't need the freebies and the effort of selling them on

What I really need to know, just for peace of mind or buyers regret is

Is the B2 a really nice TV, and will it make my PS5 experience a much crisper experience, my current gaming TV is a over ten year old Sony.

So, go for it now with the B2, or wait until July in the hope the C2 will hit the same price ?

Who knew choosing a new telly would be such a stressful decision.

If you have a ten year old TV then a B2 is a fantastic upgrade.

Didn't see anyone else mention it, but after ordering the TV yesterday I just got an email from John Lewis about a Technology £100 gift redemption valid for purchases (Thursday 27th April 2023 and ending Wednesday 31st May 2023).

Claimable in July . If legit this makes this hot deal scorching. (edited)

I don't think it applies to this model but looks like it applies to the LG CS model which would bring it down to £799 if you will use the £100 JL voucher

This is tempting. Has anyone seen the C1 and B2 side by side?

Same panel in both. C1 is slightly better but at this price the B2 is a great deal too. Some would prefer the smaller stand

If you plan on using it to play games for now and for future proofing purposes, get the C1/2.

For anyone else this is a perfectly good example of the LG panel at a good price.

Is this because of bfi? Sorry a bit of a novice here

    Isn't 120hz and hdmi 2.1 enough?

    I have a 2016 LG-OLED55B6V model.

Does anyone know if the mounting points are the same on newer models? I have a fairly complicated wall mount setup and it would be a pain to re-mount a new TV.

But if it used the same mount points as a new one, it would be trivial to install.

I've always held the attitude that last year's tech is best for most people. There will be some that have to have the latest either because they can genuinely tell the difference or simply because they must. I'm definitely not one of those - mobiles, audio, TV, whatever, that were the latest thing a year or two ago are good enough for me. I just bought the 2 yr old tech 55 inch C1 OLED from Crampton & Moore recently for less than £800 which is more than good for me otherwise this would be very interesting. My old 50inch LED goes into another room to use as a monitor

So, did anyone else recently receive a £100 John Lewis gift card after purchasing this deal ?

Was not expecting that and as far as I know, the B2 wasn't included in the promotion to receive the gratis £100 so I'm very surprised, but what a result

Takes the TV down to £650 with a 5 year guarantee, happy day's indeed
