having worked as a manager at poundland for nearly 10 years... I wouldnt touch these with a bargepole! I know the staff, budgets and the aggression the company has!!! they wouldn't care if they killed u! as long as it doesn't effect their money! and even when serious things happen... they try and dodge as much as poss!

Same here. Not for me but it beats cinema pick and mix prices.

its okay, but I have seen the cups and they are stupidly tiny so you can barely fit any sweets in! The Range near me does a variety of sweets with a really decent size cup for 1.99 and it dosen't look germ ridden haha.

I've never seen pick & mix in our local stores before, is it a new thing? Good price though

I would agree, I worked for another similar cheap shop and with regards to pick & mix, we were told to put sweets in the tubs that had been on the floor, that had had mould on them (we were told to scrape it off and put it back) and that customers had handled but decided they didn't want anymore. We even had rats in our stock room once but didn't dispose of any confectionery. Put me off pick & mix for life!

I find that Wilko's always have their pick n mix half price at school half terms, £1.99 for the biggest cup. Great price...

This looks good but sure I've seen something similar in Homebargains store. Voted hot btw.

Yep you need an Alan partridge size cup lol.

friend works in the 99p store and she has warned me not to get pick and mix from there, as they just put new sweets on top of the old ones, and rarely change stock! also after seeing children put dirty hands in without using scoops i'd rather pay 99p/£1 for a bag of sweets!

I think the germs and the pooh add to the flavour!oO

Hi Guys, first of all I will point out that I work for Candyking that out of the way I just wanted a right of reply on some of your comments. Firstly although I do not buy pick and mix from B&M etc having seen our cup it seems larger, Secondly we merchandise and clean our fixtures to support stores and staff although Poundland staff and managers seem as excited about Candyking as ourselves, As for putting new stock on top of old, our fixtures fill from the back therefore rotating stock and ensuring product quality and freshness.
Add to that our product has no artificial flavours or preservatives I leave you to Judge the deal.

I worked for Wilko for 5 years and think their brilliant for most things and although I know the staff who work at my local r brilliant for hygiene I know even she wouldn't touch the pic n mix if u paid her, the things we witnessed customers do was unbelievable! :-p

Looks awesome to me, cup is actually great value for just £1, also, this looks like Candyking, they do the yummiest sweets, I'm in

If this is the Candy King stuff, it's the same stuff as in service stations and cinemas for which I've paid a fortune, so £1 is a great deal, even if the cup isn't that big (get 2 or 3 for that price!). Too many haters here slagging off the range without knowing the facts. Why would pick n mix at £land be any different to pick n mix in a cinema? Not in my local store so assuming its in limited no of stores but really hope they roll this out to all stores as I know I'll buy it every time I'm in town!!
