Found this while browsing the sites for the speakers

The Q Acoustics 5040 are quite new, and highly rated; and retail for £999.00 and the Yamaha A-670 is £249.99 (on sale at £189.00) which shows a huge saving over the speakers RRP alone.

Personally I would sell the Yamaha and bring that price further down and you get close to half price for the speakers.

Amp:

Comes with free delivery, 5 year warranty and if you use TCB you can get 2.62% cash back which is roughly £23.

For amp consideration If you got the speakers, the low as £250 yamaha with A+B speakers and a DAB receiver: richersounds.com/yam…tml
Really want to believe all yamaha amp internals are the same (external speaker connections on this sure aint!)
Know all answers await after googling. But trying to cut down.

I understand that Yamahas are the best-measuring amps for mass-market manufacturers selling through retailers. Even Cambridge Audio amps have had issues with measurements.
So, I would wager that Yamaha should sound better than the most other stuff available in that price range.

But, yeah, I'm an engineer who trusts data more than the mumbo-jumbo. So, YMMV.

The amp is a very odd bit of gear.... It has a SINGLE input....

Not exactly sure how useful that is.

I think that would be fine really, I only use a single input on my amplifier. I just have my DAC plugged into it.

Yeah that's bizarre!...as much as I'm a fan of Yamaha gear that won't be a very wise buy ..and I'd say very difficult to shift on when the upgrade bug hits (edited)

Given the performance of the 5020, I don't have high hopes for these

If they are anything like as good as the Concept 40's then they will sound amazing.

How do these compare to the B&W equivalent
