Absolute bargain this for a high end taster cruise imo.

The price includes

  • Port fees and taxes

With a variety of locations to choose from on board, our well-appointed inside staterooms are a haven of comfort and style during your voyage.

Designed to be perfect in form and function, each inside stateroom brings together the best in comfort and convenience. Note: Flights from Hamburg aren't included, don't pay £160pp to the cruise line for them. I'd recommend booking a night or two in Hamburg then getting a cheap flight home.

ITINERARY:

  • Southampton
  • At Sea
  • Hamburg

I almost booked this before realising it ends in Hamburg and doesn't take you back to Southampton. Oops!

I think that the "optional" gratuities with Cunard are somewhere in the £10-15 pppn. So factor that in to your budget.
You are automatically opted in to these and you would have to go to guest services to opt out (should you so wish)

I'm always unsure of the best way to do these "cruise out, fly home" trips as your car will always be in the wrong place for one leg of the trip especially with transatlantic options (not this deal obviously) when you will only be able to get flights back to main airports rather than the regionals (edited)

Tried looking for the tips info, but it was fairly vague. Assuming it's £10pp/pn as cruise companies usually put them on the lower end for the cheaper cabins. £60pp/pn still seems great imo, especially as it's early school hols I think

Southampton airport seems pretty rubbish, barely fly's anywhere!

They flew more places when Flybe was around, it's hamstrung by the length of runway, which can just about handle an A320 but most flights are turbo-props. However, I have never experienced a better airport for getting on your way so quickly after a flight. It can be a little as 10 minutes between landing and getting in your car in the car park - absolute heaven compared to Heathrow. It also has direct access to its own railway station. They are looking to extend the runway so hopefully in future there will be bigger aircraft and more flights.

Good deal I booked the last one you shared for Msc divina - going in a few days and super excited as it's our 1st cruise.

Would have jumped on this one but alas no cabins for 4 available.

Great price but don’t forget to arrange travel back from Hamburg

....or don't...start a new life. Hamburg is alright to live in.

Excellent value for money. Especially for a balcony cabin.
    Not much availability left, though.
First week of school holidays too!

I had a look, and couldn't see one.

Wish this one had return also included. 2 day cruise would have been ideal to try the first cruise experience.

This is more of a cruise and get yourself home experience 😁

One way cruise spoils it for me. I would be well up for it living in Southampton.... If it brought me home again

Does this have an open air deck like the Gosport Ferry?
    whycantiusemyownnameffs's avatar
It’s cheaper than the Gosport ferry !

I'd love to try this - do you know if I can use my Clubcard vouchers? Or which London airport they fly back to? (edited)
    rufus_cat's avatar
It doesn't include flights, you have to arrange these yourself. There are direct flights from Hamburg to Gatwick.
  20. Gerry1961's avatar
Can you return on the ship the following day and just pay twice?
    rufus_cat's avatar
No, the next cruise is a 9 night one heading north east up into the Baltic.

To book or not to book. It's Cunard

Never been on a cruise - are they basically Butlins on a boat?
    ecraigy's avatar
Butlins has a fairground - but you won't find that on a Cunard.
And unlike Butlins, the carpets aren't sticky on these cruise ships.
Kids under 10 will probably prefer a holiday at Butlins though - as the Butlins restaurants are unfussy and the swimming pool at Butlins is waaaaaaay more fun.
  23. Ciderman's avatar
Good deal. But can’t get drinks package for trips under 5 days. So factor in paying per drink.
    MonkeyMan90's avatar
    It's a 2 night cruise you're hardly going to need to re-mortgage.

Does anyone know what type of crowd/age group attracts these cruises please?
