I'd be surprised if the kids get them by Christmas eve with the state of Royal Mail
    crack_shot's avatar
they will if they are parcels since that's all the management cares about.
the workers are doing an incredible job under insane pressure. if only you knew

Just a word of warning, we’ve tried to do this a couple of times in the past but the response has either been too late or did not come. Maybe just don’t rely on it and use a paid service (some excellent ones) or get a relative to send one.

    Same mine never came

I made a £50 a telephone donation years ago to NSPCC at Christmas time. In the new year I got bombarded with loads of other charities chasing my money via the postal system.........Strange or wot ? Nah! They sold my name and details on for more pennies. Never again.

It's a nice idea but the letter is pretty rubbish. Not complaining because it's free, but it would probably be more exciting for your kids if you/ChatGPT write one for them instead.

Why does every royal mail deal go hot, when they give such a terrible service?
    Rich.pulling's avatar
Ironic considering I’ve just gotten back from work today there giving a great Sunday service

At least we knock on the door and wait unlike Amazon

They do this every year....mind you with the price of stamps going up and up just get a mate to write your kid a letter instead and say Santa delivered it by hand😁 (edited)

I'll get chatGPT to write a letter and Dall-E 3 to make a relevant picture, then print it as a postcard.

HOT. Last time I did this exercise was 1963, writing to santa to send me Beatles autographs. It never came about but we all knew then they were sooooo special.

Royal mail service since they were privatised has been abysmal. Past few months worst ever and continually declining. Best they fold and let people who care about their customers take over. Some of the stories I've heard you couldn't imagine
    weldz's avatar
I'm a postie, believe everything you hear and then multiply it by 10

My daughter is 8 and asking questions. Last chance to get this in ♥️

Dear Santa, I worked hard for this 75p. It’s my life savings. I turned off the electricity to pay for this. You better send the best present ever to my child. Or else! Love u lots xxx
  15. lynseycorrie's avatar
I’ve given up with this now.
We always get a card in January. Bit late by then
  16. sjt.sjt's avatar
You can also download a copy of the letter Santa will send
  17. thepostie's avatar
Oh, the joys of privatisation! Impossible targets to hit in the peak period thanks to rounds being made too big. Even Royal Mail know they will be failing even more so they have tried to bring in a Xmas incentive scheme to attempt to get staff working past their time every day.

So there's a possible £250 local payment if the national target is missed by 5 or 3 %.
Nice work if you can get it.....

I normally do the Letter from Santa through the NSPCC, as the required "donation" goes to a good cause.

Don't wanna sound like the grinch but why not get their house in order before running crowd pleasing stuff like this that will waste resource and inevitably back fire and make everyone more annoyed?
  22. RockTheStone's avatar
PNP Santa App is a great option. They even send you a video for Xmas and another on the child's birthday. DD still believes in it so works like a treat. (edited)

Will this turn up two weeks late like the rest of my post in Sheffield?

with USO compliance less than 30% in many areas it is no wonder customers go elsewhere.
98% compliance was not achievable even before the most recent dispute.

We did this last year in early Nov. 2 arrived back in the new year, 1 never did.

    I really wouldn’t .
  26. mb1's avatar
    Didn't get ours last year

It's great if the little ones already know what they want for next year's Christmas! We sent a letter last november, still waiting for the answer, but to be honest the presents were absolutely okay in the wardrobe in the last 12 months, was a bit hard to explaining to the little one why he got different toys, but at the end he was happy with them, Legos went retiring last december, so they even worth more money now, thank you Royal Mail.

Ours came today not addressed to the kids just addressed to ‘santas friends’ was the same card as last year with a gingerbread recipe on it, and I know it’s free but it used to be a letter and look the part. Anyway I’ve ditched it and donated to the nspcc
