Every time I’ve got these special 2kg boxes from Sainsbury, Tesco or Asda half of them have been rotten/dry or flavourless.

Annoying…or maybe just my luck.

Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge and they'll last longer (assuming they're not rotten as soon as you buy them)

Also find these very variable as it seems 50/50 if the entire lot is going to be nice or flavourless/dry. The standard Sainsburys easy peelers have a better hit rate for me, but are also sometimes rubbish.

Anyone know where you can buy consistently nice easy peelers? The local fruit stall oranges are a right pain to peel.

Lidl do easy peelers and 'sweet' easy peelers for a ~20% markup. Markups worth it for me, no bad experiences yet, for me anyway

The big scam is, supermarkets I've said they're removing sell by dates to avoid waste. Basically means they can sell the oldest wrinkliest driest fruit and veg they can get their hands on

Quite a lot of them are past their best. They don't keep as well as Easter eggs!

Very good deal but as others say you might find 30% of them are too soft, rotten or have moulds

Crates in local store were half rotten, easy pass.
