I’ve had this for well over a year now and still love it every day. That said I got it for £503 with work Samsung discount so never looked back

Cool setup, what software do you use for the verticle screen which has the CCTV?

How long is the manufacturer's refurbished product warranty? Would be concerned based on previous experience that this could be either a factory or customer reject due to faulty screen pixels. Free returns in that case I guess. Who opens but never uses a monitor, not even to check?? (edited)

12 months warranty. If its anything like the M70B I received from ebay Samsung good as new they will be brand new in box. Samsung may be trying to get rid of old stock to get ready for a new model. The only problem I had was them cancelling my original order after they claimed to have stock issues. They came through in the end. This is just my experience from them and your mileage may vary.

Anyone having same problem, if you click on seller's other items, it shows no items?
    plewis00's avatar
eBay is always a hot bed of poor site design and glitches like that. Just refresh it a few times. Another recent issue is when you view a seller's items then in the box that says 'search this seller's 800 items', it does a site-wide search.

I've been going back on this and the Neo G9 for £1040 all weekend...solid prices, but reddit is full of users complaining about the panel lottery with Samsung 49" monitors, and it's too much money to risk a factory second on a panel with widespread QA issues. Heat for the price though.
    LaurenceGough's avatar
It's about time they introduce different grade panels for sale for people that don't mind a slightly worse QC for less. I guess they wouldn't sell many of the lower grade but you never know.

Bare in mind you need an absolute beast of a PC to run all games maxed out on this thing and quite a few games struggle with super-ultrawide.

50794517-Lq3Mj.jpgBlack Uniformity is far from looking great on this thing... (edited)

never had any issues with running 90% of games with super ultrawide, Ones that do normally have very easy workarounds.

The actually pixel count is less than a standard 4k monitor so any 3060ti GPU and upwards would play games at reasonable settings

    It arrived:
    Looks new:
The thing is way too big, yes u get extra space, so 3 splits vs my 34 inch 2 splits/spreadsheets
    Positive very bright
Negative quite a lot which I think is criminal on a monitor that retails for 1200!
    No speakers
    Only one HDMI again
    No uSB-C

Other than this for some reason my mouse feels heavier or slight lag while dragging it across the screen
Also gaming seems less easy having to shift mouse/action things across 49 inch v 34.
Overall difficult one, good monitor but at this level this monitor should have literally everything there is to have leave alone no usb - c or even speakers
  7. Searching4deals1234's avatar
This is probably gonna be brand new as that’s how my opened never used monitor showed up

Sorry voted cold by accident. (edited)

Hotukdeals needs to allow changing the vote, I've done the same in the past.

What GPU horsepower do you need to power this BEAST???

Would LOVE this for office work.

For gaming, think you'd need a 4090 lol
    EndemicAlarm's avatar
Depends what you're playing. I've got an RX580. Cyberpunk is barely doable. GTA V could turn the details up surprisingly high.

The point of gaming on this is immersion, not whacking great fidelity. You can't even see the whole screen at once. If you don't mind the trade-off losing fancy graphics in exchange for immersion, it may not be such a big deal.

Depends on how fussy you are about effects and so on. I am not.

Anyone do office work on something like this? I'm wondering if it's suitable for Excel etc , or just too big. (edited)
    JusTox's avatar
My old company had around 60x of Philips 49 inch Monitors, felt it was great productivity wise having lots of documents and files open and being able to multitask at the same time. My only pet peeves was any video in normal 16:9 format would create black bars on either side of the screen (there probably is some software to be able to place it on left or right whilst other side can be used for something else though)
  10. BarneyRubble's avatar
Wish these had a bit more vertical screen size
    InDaHouse's avatar
    Me too

    Then I read it’s like 2 x 27 QHD monitors together

So 2 x 16:9 ratios next to each other.

That’s what I’m used to now and think…maybe this works well ?
  11. sparx1981's avatar
I have one already, need 2 more so I can go triple screen on these bad boys
  12. mickmartin16's avatar
Absolute steal if 120hz suits your needs. HOT.

Anyone got a 50% off voucher code…. Or is that just me being greedy
    TehJumpingJawa's avatar
Even I'd bite with a 50% off code!
  14. dini2k2's avatar
How many if these do i need for full 360?
    bargain_hunter77's avatar
this is only 1800r so about 12 screens for a 3.6m diameter circle. You'd want the 1000r G9 for about 6 screens with 2m diameter
  15. crack_shot's avatar
    bad
10 dimming zones and edge lit means there will be more blooming than an early bethesda game
pixel response time is poor.... even for a 120 hz panel

the newer samsung VA PC monitors are the best for PC gaming* (even if most PC gamers are too stupid to realise it) but this ain't it

    * 240 hz and below
  16. TacticalTimbo's avatar
Tell me, why do all these buyers get so close to using it, I mean they get it all out of the box...I assume as they put their hand out towards the power button, a flying pig smashes trough the window and carries them away with their trotters?
    Ringdog's avatar
If you look at it logically, they must be lying? Why else would the box be opened and the monitor not taken out? Do you often open boxes and then not take out the item you ordered? It seems Samsung have a lot of customers who do.

Anyway, it is now out of stock. (edited)
  17. EndemicAlarm's avatar
Didn't think much of my Samsung 34" ultrawide, features are lacking/dated other than the screen itself and the build quality is kinda meh, but for that price...
  18. fishmaster's avatar
    Opened never used hmmm

I don't like it, I want that one. Oh I didn't think it was going to be that big! I definitely never spilt anything on it. When you say it fell on the floor I dispute that, it acted in accordance with gravitational forces.
    plewis00's avatar
'I didn't think it would be that big' is something I heard them complaining about in our local John Lewis, a very common return reason, especially for the TVs. Baffles me how people don't bother measuring or checking anything before spending that kind of money - probably because they know the retailer is a soft-touch and will take it back with no consequences...
  19. Roy_S's avatar
Apologies if it is silly question, but can I use it with a Mac book Pro? I.e. directly connect via HDMI?
    bargain_hunter77's avatar
Yes, you can probably plug 2 mac book pro and they will both show on the same screen and you can share 1 mouse across both
  20. Kay135's avatar
I couldn’t spot if this would allow a usb-c connection from the monitor to a laptop for power and connectivity?

Any views on using this for work purposes?
    bargain_hunter77's avatar
I don't own any of the Samsung G9 monitors because none of them have USB C, although Displayport is superior but you don't get the charging

For work and gaming purposes, it is next level. When i have to go into the office and use dual screens i hate it as i can run 3 windows side by side on a superultrawide
  21. Liam876's avatar
These screens had a lot of QC issues in various different areas such as backlight issues and internal hardware faults that caused screen flickering at higher refresh rates etc.

This could well be a unit that has previously been returned for these reasons so I'd make sure to do plenty of research before biting. Be prepared for the aggravation of potentially having to repackage and return this beast.

I personally have returned 2 of these screens from similar deals due to faulty DSC units that caused horrible flickering at anything above 60hz.
I've given up on finding one without issues for now. (edited)
  22. Ringdog's avatar
I think i'd go with the AW3423DW if you don't need something as wide. £130 more though, but OLED. (edited)
    Ringdog's avatar
Also Samsung QC is atrocious and the last monitor i cancelled (I didn't even take delivery of it) it took them 48 days to refund me and only after threats of small claims court. (edited)
  23. Relievo's avatar
Can someone please advise me on if this is also good for creative work? Photoshop, colour grading, video editing?
  24. Resonate's avatar
Already had one of these for £900 2 years ago. New one arrived today. When they say good as new they not joking. It’s a brand new sealed box! (edited)
  25. Andy_H_VW's avatar
Mine arrived today. It looked sealed. Although some of the packaging inside had masking tape around it. May be the way they come?
The power cables etc had. Never been opened.

So far very happy with it
