Never take a mobile on contract until 1st April or though shall be the fool on the 1st when the headline monthly price is boosted by 15%. Never buy a mobile on contract unless the total cost is less than the cost buying out right. On that this deal is decent. Consider cancelling your contact before the 1st of April the 1st April you come to as cancellation charges go up on the 1st. Some times new deals make this worth it.

I dont know if its you posting this on every thread or multiple people, but just want to respond as it's really odd advice when April is 5 months away.

Let's assume 15% rise, which I think is very extreme for 2024, and even more so for 2025.

    Buy it today:
    29.99 for 5mo
    34.50 in April 24, for 12mo
39.70 in april 25 (probs few pence off, mental maths)
    Contract ends Nov 2025

    So its 29.99*5 + 34.50* 12 + 39.70 *7

Let's assume you can get this same deal on April 1st 24 (again, massive assumption that, on its own, makes waiting 5 months a questionable choice):

    29.99 for 12mo
    34.50 for 12mo

So what's the difference? You basically swap 7mo at 29.99 for 7mo at 39.70. So in exchange for waiting for a deal for 5 months, which may not even be there, you can save £70... wow. Bear in mind this deal is a combo of Samsung cashback deal, retailers price drop and topcashback. And once youve waited for april 2024, even if this deal is available, you might as well wait 7months for black Friday 2024 at that point! The cycle never ends

I'd definitely opt for lowest monthly cost where there's a chance of course. (edited)
  3. Kornel's avatar
If it's £29.99 per month does that mean next april/2024 it will be £34.19 and then the next april/2025 it will be £38.98 due to the fixed CPI +3.9%? Which means If you buy this now you're paying £833.09 over 2 years plus £199 upfront so £1032.09? I'm I wrong? Not sure if I understood this.
    tomoliver2089's avatar
Pretty much, except there's also £150 trade in cashback. So assuming you trade in 'something' its about 870 ish total.

Averages about £36 a month with price increases.

I'd be very shocked if you'll get an s23 ultra cheaper.

  7. blaabla's avatar
Can anyone comment on usability of the 8gb vs 12gb? All the deals seem to be on 8gb 256 instead of 12gb 512 - storage not an issue but RAM is important
    rgtom's avatar
The 512/12gb model is available on this deal too? Just adds £150 to the up front cost which is about right for the difference between the two phones sim free. There's a drop down at the top of the page when you click the link. (edited)

Anyone know how the disney+ redemption works, not finding anything. Email code after cooling off period or something?
    b0nsta's avatar
Redeemable via the Samsung boost app once you've registered the device to your Samsung account. You get an instant code via the app

Meh, 12 quid for my motorolla G8+

Also tried my S20FE 5g and was offered £80 whereas I can get £130 at CEX. Very stingy trade in.

    No thanks (edited)

Can I buy this and cancel the contract straight away by paying it all off?
    b0nsta's avatar
What are the charges for terminating my contact early?

If you decide to leave before your minimum contract period, you may be charged an early cancellation fee. This will be equivalent to the total cost of all monthly charges remaining until the end of the minimum term of your agreement.

You can view your early cancellation fee in the iD Mobile App or My Account online, just follow the steps below:

Log in to the iD Mobile App or My Account online

Go to the My Account page and tap Thinking of Leaving

    Click Switch or Cancel Now

Choose Leaving cost and follow the instructions

You'd have to wait til the 14 day cooling off period is done before doing the above.

Just to get this straight, I purchase the phone, and after fill out the form linked in the description to get the trade in value and an extra £150?
    Shockwave1's avatar
But before you send the phone back or they receive it, you must fill the second form for the £150 extra on top of the tradein and sending all the details of your order, order number ect, it seems a bit strange but had no problems with payout and have used them a couple times (edited)
  12. pauby's avatar
I have a phone with a trade in value of £0. I can only recycle it. However, they still sent me a reference number I could put on the £150 cashback form.

Does the phone you trade in have to have a value? Or is it you must just send them a device that they have agreed to?
    thespiderpig's avatar
Looks like it has to have some value

Wait for 6 months and have S24 ultra at same price with dead phone trade in😃😃
  17. b0nsta's avatar
I have the Snapdragon version of the S22U, contemplating on whether to upgrade. With an iphone 8 trade-in I can potentially get this down to £730.76 all in.

But the S24 is just around the corner....
    ghostm4n's avatar
So is the S25/S26/S27 etc. Its just a matter of perspective is all 😁

    amb47uk's avatar
Just FYI it reduces the trade in bonus to £100 only going via TCB
  20. Shockwave1's avatar
Ended up buying, works out to around £570 if they accept the cashback and tradin ect, I don't think it will go much lower, plus put my old phone to use aswell with the trdein,

    Thanks (edited)

Did your topcashback/trade in work as expected?
  21. sHAYM4N's avatar
well mine has been a disaster so far. DPD delivery due today, 30 minutes before delivery it states I've signed for it and they send a photo of it sat on a warehouse shelf Then told it would have to go in for a 6 day investigation before I could either cancel or be refunded. Tracking changed to say it was returned to depot.

I've had temu and aliexpress orders handled better than this.
    b0nsta's avatar
Ah that's pants. Hopefully it gets sorted soon!
  22. Lee_TaylorzPA's avatar
Ok this deal is too good to pass on. Even with inflation rise in april 24 and april 25 especially with the £150 trade in (effective £50 upfront plus value of your phone) your getting an s23 ultra for under £900 with inflation and factoring in the final price!!! Added bonus is a sim with 250gb data (im skeptical of ID mobile) but they have to be worth a punt at this price!!! Imagine an iphone 15 pro max (s23 closet competition and same cost) on the very same deal as this??? Stock would be put within a few hours!!! I cant see how a customer can lose on this deal??? But then again ive heard ID are a pain to deal with and have really no customer service like EE, o2 and vodafone so the price reflects having not the greatest after sales experience!! But at this price as i said it may be worth it
    tucka20's avatar
I was with three a year or so ago and ended up leaving contract early as the signal was shocking. This deal was too good to pass up so I went for it and have had no issues in the usual bad spots.

Can't comment on dealing directly with Id but they are earphone warehouse network so I would just go to store for any issues.
  23. the_king8xN's avatar
Some say the s24 ultra is coming for xmas?
    Kidsteruk's avatar
I was mulling an Ultra in the BF sales, depending on offers

I'd read the S24 launch was likely brought forward a month to Jan, but nothing about Dec 23

    Where are you reading that?
  24. issynazar's avatar
Is the trade in guaranteed? I've got a battered S20 that has no real value
    tomoliver2089's avatar
The trade in cashback is. The value of your phone is subject to them agreeing with how you've defined it.

I've used CPW Samsung cashback a few times. Never had an issue.
  25. Shockwave1's avatar
    If only it was payg
    Scalesofjustice's avatar
What? Seriously? You can get on contract and then cancel, but pay the full cost of the contract, which is still less than buying it on payngo (edited)

This is a brilliant deal heat added, but my use case requires a network that doesn't use cgnat. I'm holding out for a three deal, if that isn't too much to ask.

I have a s22 Ultra just back from Samsung on my Home Insurance after I cracked the screen. New screen, new glass back and new battery and factory reset. How much is it worth?
    b0nsta's avatar
Probably around £400-£500ish on auction sites depending on frame condition. trade-in values will vary and will likely be lower.

Can someone please suggest me a cheap phone to trade in?
    RomanTrabant's avatar
S7 edge was the one I traded in few months ago

Hot deal. But be warned it's samsung. Great battery, screen etc but the software is samsung I had oppo for 2 years. Not a single issue. I had to reset this one at least once a month or more often as it acts up sometimes.
Best is the battery imho and I think it is worth the upgrade especially for this money . (edited)

If anyone is going to dubai, the 12gb ram model only costs £740. Since all these phones don't include chargers, there is no difference.
    absolutebeginner's avatar
Last time I checked you have no warranty in the UK if you buy in Dubai. Big difference...
  32. karanbajaj90's avatar
Does it only accept selected phones in trade-in.

You are not impressed with the pixel? The camera and screen are class leading but aside from that the s23 may be better.
