Was having a look at Costco for a 55 inch OLED and noticed the Sasmung one is 1189.99 with Samsung's cashback offer (200) valid to 14 March effectively making this 990 which is probably quite close to the lowest its ever been according to pricespy pricespy.co.uk/audio-video/tvs/samsung-oled-qe55s95b-55-4k-ultra-hd-3840x2160-smart-tv--p6239452

Not for me as I'm after an LG CS/C2 but hope it helps someone else!

Its been reported that these brighter oleds qd by samsung are experiencing burn in much worse than other non qd panels. Worth looking this up as it sort of makes sense as brightness was always a factor. Pretty certain RTINGS was mentioned as being involved in testing but sorry no link. What with the build quality issues, no dolby vision and now this I wouldnt touch one with a barge pole.

Looool not even the slightest bit true and brightness was even further reduced. Look at avforums and rting spilling out your own barge pole it seems

This or the LG G2 or Sony A90J ?

    Yes

Is this better than the mid range LG OLED offerings? TVs seem a lot more complicated than they used to be 😄
    Hatsune_MikuwBK's avatar
In terms of picture quality and brightness, yes. But as recent RTINGS accelerated longevity test suggest, the Samsung QD-OLED panel in this TV is more susceptible to image retention than the WOLED in the LGs. That said, the real world effect is marginal at best. Don't abuse your OLED and you'll be fine.

The software on the LG is better than the Samsung but both pale in comparison to Sony's. I have an S95B myself and I mainly defaulted to use a Chromecast with Google TV instead. If given the choice, I'll go with Samsung again considering the experience I have now, but I can see why some would choose the LG for the better overall convenience factor.

Also the blacks on the S95B will look a little grey-ish with ambient lighting compared to an LG. This is not an issue for me because I can control the lights in my room to a minimum even in the day with lined curtains, but if this is not possible for you, be warned that blacks will look similar to an LED when the S95B is in a room with ambient lighting. Anyone know of a similar deal but one where I can get a further reduction by trading in an old TV of mine ? Thanks !
    P1121's avatar
The only retailers I'm aware of doing trade in old TV on some models currently are Currys and Samsung online shop. Won't be available on every TV though, and unlikely to have a price like this deal, so this deal would likely beat them overall.

    Great price.

@Dostoevsky what's the reason to go for the LGs instead? Just wondering. I've got an LG B7 which I love but wouldn't mind getting a newer set. Cheers

Is the 65inch reduced as well?

Is the QLED better then for not burn-in issues?

I’m looking for a new tv at the moment
just measured up and unfortunately the 55 is just a little too big to fit where it needs to go
so looks like I’ll be looking at the Sony XR48A90KU 48'
    or the Panasonic Oled
shame as the 55s are cheaper than smaller models

Quite a few models going out of stock. LG 55C2 out of stock in many places and prices have shot up to £1499 everywhere. Quite bizarre. This is also out of stock.
  14. gummby's avatar
Even costco have removed the C2.

This place still charging £1049 for C2. rgbdirect.co.uk/Pro…6LD

Does this mean LG trying to keep prices high or are tv manufacturers just spamming the cheaper models?

Amazing Costco stock the S95 as their warranty policy is the best

Bring on the S95C and G3 war. 2023 is the best year for ages to get a TV with MLA OLEDs improved QD-OLEDs and 2000+ zone mini-LEDs
