I would be interested to know if anyone has a view as to the best double sided tape to use to fix an interior car mirror to the windscreen. I just had my screen changed and the mirror fell straight off of the pad the fitters used. Googling seems to suggest 3M VHB pads may be best but if anyone knows better I would be grateful to hear.

You could try 'nano tape' it's like really sticky rubber but no adhesive - kinda like the stuff you get on the back of new bank cards.
It sticks great to glass. I've ended up using it in quite a few places around the house.

As it doesn't have adhesive it works great for high heat applications. It's the only thing that I found that would work for sticking up my kitchen under counter lights (edited)

I’ve used the 3M VHB pads in black before and they lasted for 10+ years. Bought off eBay.
Also Halfords sell number plate tape which might work for your mirror.
