I wouldn’t bother at the moment. Xbox have recently confirmed another deal with WD to also provide the storage expansion.

I don't think you will find Microsoft has confirmed a deal with Western digital yet, 'if' they are going to announce it they will probably do it at the Xbox Showcase in a weeks time.

The Xbox event is in 1 week, so at this point it might be better to wait and see now.

Can get a 2tb for ps5 for almost half this price, so twice the storage for half the price

It's an absolute joke the cost of these. Series X is a great machine but this was the wrong solution. 2230 cards are far more expensive than the 2280 equivalents and limiting it to one company has only driven up prices further.

It's gen4, but only 2 lanes, so gen3 speeds. Wish they just did a cover with an M.2 slot like Sony did.

    Finally caught up with Argos:)

With 2230 prices coming down and rumoured new offering from WD, the prices of those will finally get to reasonable levels soon:)
I am hoping closer to £100 for 1TB by end of year:)
Anyway, tempted at this price to add to my son’s series S as 512 GB is laughable

If I recall correctly, of the 512gb, series s has only about 370gb available for storage/games, with the rest reserved for quick resume feature etc.

Reportedly microsoft were working on an option for xbox to disable quick resume, so that more storage can be freed up

The mere ~370gb available storage on the series s was a dealbreaker for me

And still no third party option other than Seagate.

I wish Microsoft hadn't gone for a proprietary solution. I remember bozos praising this over the PS5s implementation because the alternative was "too complicated"

    £150 for a 1tb HDD. Thank god I went with a ps5.

Your not including all the costs on the PS5 that make things just as expensive and probably more so than the Series X. (edited)
