With the ridiculous keyless entry on many vehicles, these locks at least give some deterrent against theft.

I had one of the original Stoplocks and the lock broke so the key wouldn't open it.

I wedged a big screwdriver into the hinge. It took 20 seconds to break it open.

I never thought they are back in fashion. However with rise its keyless car thefts. I am not surprised.

It amazes me that people spend thousands on a vehicle yet don’t own one of these. I’ve got this exact model and it’s great!

Yes somebody could cut through it, but it would take some sort of industrial power tool which makes a lot of noise - something criminals won’t do at 2am on your driveway.

they are more likely to cut through the steering wheel with a hacksaw it takes about 30 seconds and is relatively quiet... i have one on my work van but dont hold much hope it will stop them if they wanted it.

In the late 90s i had one of these for my 1991 metro, one day I'd parked at work and not used the lock, someone smashed my window, took the stoplock from the back seat and used the stoplock to smash my bosses car window which was parked next to mine

Had thieves cut through my steering wheel when I had this on. They were dumb enough to cut it in the wrong place and not take the car.

Put it in correctly and they have to do two cuts which all adds time. Especially when they want a quick steal.

Get an immobiliser as your actual security, anything extra like this or a disc lock just helps visually and to slow them down a little. Might get spooked if it’s taking too long.
