For anyone buying it, I suggest looking in the DLC for the difficulty add-on, and play on very easy. It's not that it's overly difficult, but every enemy is a HP sponge and the bosses even worse, so the usual JRPG grind is more tedious because leveling up takes ages and doesn't make much difference either

Can you change the difficulty mid playthrough?

Is this a long game? As my backlog is ridiculous! I've been eyeing this one up for a while though

only played and Finished Grace's and Vesperia I enjoyed Vesperia the most, how does this compare for those who like the Tales of Series

Vesperia and Graces f are my favourite “Tales of” games,
Tales of Arise is a little slow to start but I would say it’s now my 3rd favourite Tales game after Vesperia and Graces f

I was really disappointed with this, it started off well enough but towards the end it dragged on way too much there were way too many cut scenes & skits & hardly any action, shame I liked all the others.

Hmm respect your opinion but I didn't find this personally. I love the skits, they are usually quite amusing and a staple part of the Tales franchise.

The only issue I had was that it for quite hard towards the end I did find it nearly outstayed its welcome, there were endless fights that did begin to drag.

Overall, it's an excellent game and I would rather replay this over FFXVI
