Great deal on a great TV , bought last month and been very impressed

The only downside is no BBC iPlayer built in , but the TV comes with a letter , a simple email and they send you a free Roku 4k stick that's worth about £50 to use apps that are missing

Also comes with a 2 year warranty , confirmed to me by Hughes

Good price. This was on my short list to consider, till I found out the front plexiglass screen/panel is not laminated to the actual lcd screen. There is apparently a few millimetres gap. Not sure if that could be a problem with dust or dirt getting in over time?

There are also updated 2023 models due out very soon, the c845, c745 and c645.

For anyone interested TCL are now the 2nd biggest tv manufacturer in the world and now own Samsung's old lcd manufacturing plant in China. They makes standard lcd as well as qled panels. They supply them to many other companies including to Samsung for use in their qled and neo qled sets.

The C745 is the sweet spot if you are happy to spend a bit more. I would have preferred the C835 personally but this is a nice stop gap for me, until I upgrade to something larger later on.

Got this telly a couple months ago and love it. You'll need a firestick or similar if you want UK tv streaming channels as they don't currently work or simply aren't available. But the picture quality is brilliant in 4K and the 1080p 120hz gaming mode is great. (edited)

Did u get a letter in with the TV ?

If you drop them an email (tcl) they will send you a free Roku 4k stick .
Just have to send them proof of purchase, a copy of the letter and the serial number

    Mine arrived yesterday

I use a fire stick myself , but will sell it on

A lot of TV for the money. Take your time to pop into Movie mode and calibrate it accordingly (white balance is the main culprit) and use Game mode for HDMI 1 if you have a capable console/PC for 4K at 120Hz, VRR, etc.

When I was looking for a TV I considered this TCL as the price was very cheap. However I came across the review (posted above) which stated there was a blue-ish tint to the image that was impossible to get rid of without causing other issues. This really put me off. (edited)

That is a LOT of Tv for the money, very impressive especially for gaming.

Great telly for the money, I'm a big fan of TLC screens in general as you'd have to spend a fair bit more for similar specced TV's from the big names.
The free Roku stick makes it even better.

Factory picture/colour settings are usually not great (a bit too cool for my liking) so, as someone mentioned above, spend a little time playing around with the settings to get it how you like it.

Also, seatch YT for guides on how to speed up the GUI of Google TV's, made a big difference to my Daughters TCL P725K (edited)

Heat added. Qled TV with quick refresh rate. Hard to find that at this price.

I'm debating buying this and replacing my Philips Ambilight TV from 2018. I like the idea of having Google TV built in, and the Philips TV has developed an intermittent crackling sound. Can anyone who has this TV confirm what the performance of the Google TV OS is like?

I don't use iPlayer etc. much so am happy to have that on a stick.

The more expensive TVs like Sony which run Google is very smooth these days. Other lower end ones will be slightly slower but serviceable. Otherwise get a Google TV separately or another smart device such as fire tv if you need it to be much quicker (edited)

This looks a good deal - thanks for posting!
Any opinions on this vs Hisense 55E7HQTUK QLED?

they used to say the uk/European versions of TCL tvs were rubbish compared to the USA versions has that been corrected, are we now getting the same good versions the americans are getting ?

Yes , it's all in the model numbers , they do lesser versions and are considerably cheaper to, in UK and USA etc
But it's easily confused between model numbers .
Do your homework and you will be sound (edited)
