There are plenty of walking trousers around with solid material used for pockets, which seems far more durable than this mesh nonsense.
Those shorts were also a crumpled mess after a couple of washes (nylon). These are polyester, so will probably keep their shape after washing better.
However, I'm not going to buy them, as they don't have enough pockets and I don't trust North Face quality.
