They have soldered ram onboard - wouldn't buy it because of that. It is a disgrace that companies are doing this. Prevents upgrading RAM.

Expecting FieldMarshal to tell us 16" is far too big and AMD CPU's are horrible. (edited)

It's heat confirmed, ThinkPad's are built for professionals. You're paying for the build quality and longevity. Sure it's soldered ram but you won't ever have a use case that's limited by 32gb's, also the main cause of ram failure is due to heat/power surge. Soldered ddr5 are way more power efficient and therefore less likely fail. I think people think ram failures are common but they're really not. You've got the absolute minimum 5 years lifespan.

I can't remember the last time I saw RAM fail.
Even when I was deskside support looking after thousands of machines, most RAM failures/errors were due to the DIMM's slowly working their way out of their slots after years of heat causing expansion/contraction.
95% of the time simply re-seating the RAM would sort it out.

Wouldn't even have that issue with soldered RAM.

Afaik it has 1x M.2 slot. But also 3tb is an odd amount to mention?

    Only good if you add the £103 16" WQXGA (2560 x 1600), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-touch, 100% sRGB, 400 nits screen

Not that I need more than 32gb Ram, but say that ram goes faulty or I want to add my own specific RAM I can't.

You get a 3-year warranty for that.

With the upgraded screen would this be capable of some serious lightroom / photoshop jobs? I'd prefer to avoid Mac if possible!

I would say general work its 100% sRGB which is good start but but 100% DCI

This is my kind of laptop. I have a P14S Gen 2 with an AMD CPU. Very impressive. Probably not worth me upgrading yet though.

No Thunderbolt. Shame considering I have a Dell Thunderbolt 4 dock.

Can't take it anymore. Not an ice cream man to make everyone happy, unfortunately.
