    How safe are these?
Never heard of this make before.

Very sturdy, all the welds on the ones I have are good and no signs of cheaping out I actually prefer this type over the ratcheting ones, they have more surface area on the top.

Every vehicle DIYer should have a pair of these but note that 'most' vans chassis are higher than the sills so they might not reach.

    Heat.

If you look at the picture you can just about see the TUV and GS safety certificate logo and going off the two sets I got sent they're well made as far as axel stands go.

Just collected these as a replacement to my ageing Halfords 2 ton stands, and wanted to note the following:

I can't see any safety certification on them at all. Not that this concerns me, but it was mentioned in a previous comment.

The welds look solid but the placement of the stands upon the base metal are not centred. It's as if the welder plonked them on the base and thought that was good enough, rather than taking the time to centre them before welding.

The top section which goes up and down is painted metal, rather than being galvanized. This means that with use the paint will scrape off as the upper section is moved up and down, exposing the bare metal to rust.

For a tenner, if you have no stands at all and are going to be working on small/light cars, then these will be fine.

If you have a big car, or are looking at replacing the stands that you have, these probably aren't worth it.

I'll use these as back up stands for extra support when working underneath our cars.

Ah that's crap maybe they switched supplier or standards have slipped my two sets are certified up like the image below, the box they came in also had all the same cert logos on it.

I also have a old hand me down set from the 90's that are pretty much identical in design but are grey (which I find way more useful than my ratcheting type ones so I jumped at these wanting a new set like the oldies) and you're right they've got a wee bit of surface rust on the main shaft but that's to be expected from 30 years worth of use, nothing too bad though so hoping these hold up as good.
