About this deal

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Two nights in Blackpool with a Full English each morning and dinner on the first night, and a bottle of wine in the room for only £149 seems pretty decent to me. Right near the Pleasure Beach and all the rest. The Illuminations kick of in September and go throughout the winter.

Take a trip to nearby Lytham, which is really nice.

£149 – 2-night Blackpool break w/dinner & wine, save 52% Big Blue Hotel

Why We Love This Deal
For less than £75 per person, you can spend two nights within touching distance of Blackpool's Pleasure Beach at a hotel that has hosted the "Strictly Come Dancing" stars. • A 3-course set-menu dinner on the first night (worth £24.95 per person).
  • A bottle of house wine in the room on arrival (worth £23.95).
  • Late checkout until 1pm (worth £30).
  • It's £89 for an overnight stay with breakfast, dinner, a bottle of wine, and late checkout.
  • Combine multiple vouchers for longer stays.
  • Not available on Saturdays in September-October; 4-5, 24-30 October; 16-19 November; 19-25, 31 December, 2022; 1-8 January, 2023.
  • Note: Entry restrictions may be in place for this destination, and services at the hotel may be disrupted due to the pandemic. Check destination and hotel advisories before making travel arrangements.

More reasons to go
  • Big Blue Hotel is "perfectly located" (The AA) just off Blackpool Promenade, adjacent to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
  • The hotel has regularly hosted the stars of "Strictly Come Dancing" during filming of the show's annual Blackpool week.
  • Blackpool Tower and the Victorian Central Pier — complete with rides, food stalls, and amusement arcades — are both less than 15 minutes from the property via the seafront tram.
  • Sandcastle Waterpark is less than 10 minutes' walk away, while SEA LIFE Blackpool is less than 15 minutes' drive.
  • You could take a day trip to Lytham, a seaside town along the coast from Blackpool that is famed for its boating lake, windmill, and pretty parks, or explore one of the many walking routes in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is around 40 minutes' drive from the hotel.
  • Travelzoo Tip: The Blackpool Illuminations are due to be turned on two months early this year, and are expected to run from 2 September, 2022-2 January, 2023, so you can time your visit to take in this famous free light show.

Sounds alright..... waiting for all the bashing of Blackpool but hey no one is forcing you to go and stay lol
Only thing I would say is that if you have kids and its Friday or Saturday watch out when it gets a little later as the stag and hen parties are out and might not be stuff you want your kids to see!

Also worth noting that Rebellion Festival takes place right in the town centre. So if you have an aversion to punks and skinheads then.avoid the first weekend in August as there will be a few thousand of them wondering about . That said, they will do you no harm and if anything, offer some protection from any troublesome drunken stag do types.

We went to Blackpool at the end of April to see Johannes Radebe at the Opera House. I was quite excited actually to be going as I remember vividly family holidays and fond memories. We couldn't believe how broken the town was. Approached coming out of the theatre by a drug addict and just before we went into our Hotel. Frightening and intimidating at the same time. Says it all when the hotel door was locked circa 9.45. I was pleased when I was on the train the following morning. In no hurry to return. What a pity it's come to this.

Big blue is one of the best hotels in blackpool; last time we had a window looking out onto the whole park and the big dipper went right past our window. Can't think of many other theme park hotels where you get that close without paying a fortune.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach Station is right next to it (I commute to Preston from there) and within 15 mins you can be in Lytham for a few quid

Staying in this hotel last year, really nice. The room overlooked the rides at the back, you can hear it whoosh past but it doesn’t go on that late. The problem for us was how crap Blackpool has got over the years. It’s not so much the golden mile, as the brown mile!

Went to Blackpool last week, stayed as a base visiting family stayed in the Hilton but Blackpool is absolute shambles now, and the pleasure beach is a just one big queue.. enjoy £40 for 3 rides.. 90 minute queue to ride a rollercoaster.
