Vodafone Smart SIM uses our global network to keep your device connected to your phone, from a distance or when abroad. Similar to most phones, you need to subscribe to a paid plan to connect to our network. For full functionality of Curve, you will need to sign up to a 12 or 24 month paid plan in the Vodafone Smart App.

Features & details

  • In order to use GPS functionality to track your device using Vodafone’s global network, a 12 or 24 months paid subscription is rrequire
  • For help and support please use the ‘Contact Support’ feature in the Vodafone Smart App.

Ah so without a subscription it's as good as useless. Shame

Yeah. I have one because my cat is a house cat and when we walk her I want the safety net that we could find her if she gets loose. I also use it for my luggage since I lost a suitcase once, and if I had this I would have known exactly where my stuff was.

I bought a Streetwize SWTRACK1 Car GPS Tracker from aldi for £10 and used a 1p mobile SIM, 1p a day costs for data. Works great for what I need. On amazon now but full price.

Comes with hardwire kit for battery.

I think you have to pay a sub for the GPS tracking whereas I'm pretty sure airtag etc relies on a bluetooth connection to your phone or others finding it with thier phone. I think the GPS difference might also explain the low battery life aswell.

I use this on our cat just to see where he is - we had it for approximately 14 months - it works on GPS on 3G signal so there are times it goes out of sync however it’s been pretty useful and u can add other family members on the tracker app, map pretty accurate. We put a smaller ring on the rubber holder so it’s not dangling too far down on floor.

Would be better if the batteries didn't need charging every 7 days. I guess it's the far better range than Tile or Airtag that is the best feature with these.

Anyone used one of these on a dog? are they a bit big?

I put mine on my cat's harness and she doesn't even notice. I use mine in my luggage when I travel too, as they work internationally.

I put it on the cat today, hasnt worn a collar for a while, didnt look happy but then off she went. ive seen they do a pet collar clip for it as ive cable tied it to the collar so it hangs down a bit. but it worked surprisingly well, i kept putting it on realtime movement and looked out the front garden and there she was. when shes in ive taken it off and charged it. just need to order the clip or find a better way of securing it so it doesnt hang down. 46628734-M6prB.jpg46628734-RJiYp.jpg

Can you buy the device, then use it as a pet tracker and simply check the location history by Bluetooth?
I'm less interested in finding something lost than checking the history of where the tag has been

Yeah, it shows history. The connection is tag -> mobile network. Then you log in to the website and see the history.

Does this require the subscription though? I'm thinking get a couple and then just use them to see where the dog gets to.

Yep, 1pmobile.com/FYI, my usage in the tracker. [Image]

This is true for the first year, but years 2+ cost £30 a year. Still not horrendous, but nowhere near 365p a year. I guess you could always cancel and re-up but you have to factor that in from the outset.

Mine fits in a harness, but she's a big cat so it's hardly noticeable for her.
