About this deal

Begin your adventure aboard your personal, giant voidship, traveling between the multitude of systems within the Koronus Expanse, a barely charted and incredibly perilous region of space. Despite being considered a backwater of the Imperium, this region encompasses an enormous stretch of the void, filled with dangerous creatures and prodigious opportunities for profit and exploration.

I got this as it was on my wishlist.

Overall, I'm afraid I have a bit of buyers remorse, but can see why others like it. The worst part is that I get motion sickness for some reason. I do get this with FPS sometimes, but this is a first for an isometric game. Can't work out the problem despite playing around with the graphics no end. This is probs just me, as I haven't seen anyone else complain of it.

Otherwise, people were talking online whether this was better than BG3. It definately isn't for me, despite much preferring the 40K setting. So much more fiddly, clunky, complicated, non user friendly and obtuse. It certainly doesn't have the studio polish of BG3, which doesn't matter in principle, but as one example, there's often big clumps of text getting in the way of your view, sometimes covering major characters or items, rather than it being voiced/more subtly shown. Some people like this stuff..I like depth a lot, but this has BG3 level depth (probably more) but without it's more accessible systems, making it very hard work, and often frustrating to play. Add to that motion sickness, and I'm finding it hard to justify going back.

Otherwise, the overall vibe is really great. Being the head of a giant ship and making decisions for your officers is superb, and if you can get over the clunkyness of the menus/movement and ...well, just about everything, the combat is great, it's immersive and could last you for a hundred hours. I don't think I'll get anywhere near that far due to the above issues, and I wish I waited for a much deeper sale, but this is certainly a superb deal if you're going to like/love it. It isn't going to be this price as standard for at least a year or two I would say, depending on DLC etc.

Onto the pile of shame it goes, much to my surprise/dissapointment. (edited)

Really want to play this but thought I’d go for Dragons Dogma 2 first, maybe they would have fixed a few more bugs and added more voice acting by the time I play

I enjoyed this cuz I'm into 40k,but comparing this to bg3 is no comparison at all, bg3 = highly polished, Trader is scuffed. (edited)

Hows this compare to Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous which i really enjoyed?

This is extremely similar but with a 40k skin. If you liked those and like 40k it's a no brainer probably. I think maybe the Pathfinder system just isn't for me.
