Livarno Parasol And Livarno Parasol Base

From the recent Buy One Get One Half Price offer from Lidl. I purchased the Livarno 3m Parasol and weighted base. Got them home and realised the weighted base was the wrong one as the Parasol does not have a cross base which is needed for weighted base. Went back to change and got the Parasol base (that needs sand to be filled in), filled it with sand and set it up. When the Parasol is in the base, the pole seems tight and the Parasol sways when wind blows bit the Parasol has an angled option and on using this the pole feels like it will.come out of the base
Am I doing something wrong or is this base not for this Parasol?
