NHS Discount For Microsoft Office 365?
Hey Guys;
My Office 365 just expired today (was using my old student one) and I currently work for the NHS and was wondering if the NHS can get a free or discounted Microsoft Office 365?
I've done some research and found that apparently the NHS has made a deal with Microsoft back in 2020 but can't find how to get it myself? Link here: microsoft.com/en-…rms

Yeah, I work for Royal Berkshire and a @royalberkshire.nhs.uk email service is apparently not elligible, sounds about right!

I didn't get an email when I typed in my work email address. Currently at work now but it's a dead night. No samples coming in right now, mainly because the British public don't want to spend their Saturday sticking a PCR test kit swab up their nose/back of their throat.
Cheers for the heads up on that. Will look into that but am at work right now... £26 on German ebay and £107 on Amazon UK... with fewer apps thrown in!

You can, it's cut down though (compared to paid subscribers) and no option for local install. (edited)
There's also one big compatibility issue between Excel and Calc. Libreoffice doesn't use VBA so any macros in pre-existing Excel files simply won't work and will need to be re-written.
Related to that, as a relative VBA novice, if I need a piece of code I usually google for a solution, in pretty much every case someone else has already done the same thing so it's just a matter of tweaking their code to work in my file. Because of it's vastly smaller user base, the likelihood of being able to find code to perform the same function in Libreoffice Basic will be much less. (edited)

I’ll admit I haven’t bought it yet because I’ve been busy as I’ve recently got an interview for a trainee BMS position (haematology) and been revising my ass off for it... (main reason is I can finally get the healthcare professional council certificate and I can actually become an accredited BMS with it)!
Been looking for a position like this for the last 5 months and finally managed an interview! So I haven’t had a chance to really look around for a replacement MS Office since asking this (interview offer came in days after posting this).

What you heard is only half true, tbh best to ignore.
365 is a subscription service and the user should buy legitimately if they're planning on using OneDrive...else the owner of the email domain will have access to all their files! Argos/Curry's often sell the family sub for ~£40/yr. (edited)
I looked for the permanent version of it and it’s currently on Germany’s eBay page for £26. Will probably just get that and not bother with 365, would rather just keep it attached to my account.
Would be happy to use the 2019 version for quite some time tbh. Was using 2016 version up until 2019 when I managed to get the upgraded version through uni.
If you share the link, happy to advise. No point paying £26 for a fraudulent key when they're available for a couple of quid.
Only downside is MS office and Libre haver different menus and shortcuts which is not helpful when you are used to working with MS Office at work. I have also found, some features don't work properly like Libre wouldn't edit/track changes properly for a doc created with MS office.
It is this one I noticed. Reviews seem pretty good.

Afraid no more legitimate than a £2 key from ebay/aliexpress etc. If you google a bit there's even ways to get for free
