Hi Some stores and marketplace sellers offer free delivery exclusively to postcodes classified as 'UK mainland' in their terms and conditions or delivery information pages. However, they may either refuse to deliver to or charge an additional delivery fee for locations outside the UK mainland area.

Since it's impractical to list delivery options for every postcode, our Community team endeavours to highlight cases where an item might not be available in certain locations or where an additional charge may apply.

Let's have a look at a couple of deals as examples:

Deal Link 1 - LG 43UR78006LK 43" 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV
    - The marketplace seller for this deal does not deliver to Northern Ireland.

Deal Link 2 - Bosch 0615990M8Z FSN 1400 Professional Plunge Saw Guide Kit
    - The seller for this deal charges a premium delivery rate for certain postcodes, instead of offering free delivery. The inclusion of this information in the title serves to highlight this aspect.

No, this is wrong. UK Mainland is a geographical area consisting of the landmass of Great Britain...the Island from top to bottom. By saying delivery is free to UK mainland then delivery should be free to any postcode on the island of Great Britain, from top to bottom. However, many posts on here are advertised as free UK mainland delivery only to restrict various areas......therefore it is a lie.

It also prompts me to check deals out only to be thwarted by huge delivery charges......

Any post that says free UK mainland delivery should only be allowed if it actually gives free UK mainland delivery..... (edited)

We understand your concern. Retailers may have different definitions of 'UK Mainland,' and due to character limitations, we can't detail every postcode. Our goal is to highlight potential restrictions, prompting users to review the seller's delivery policies for informed decisions. While we acknowledge your frustration, this approach aims to provide transparency and assist users in navigating potential restrictions based on their location. We appreciate your feedback as we work to enhance our platform.
