Plusnet are generally being rubbish at the moment. The cust services phone is regularly 1 hour of waiting (I've spent i.r.o. 4 hours on the phone to them over the past two days trying to sort out a house move. Hung up twice(infuriating!!!), failed move, lost number).
I've not noticed any issues with the sim my mother has, but, I'd be hesitant in choosing them for anything now. Too many new cust deals and not enough infrastructure / resources.

What network do they use? O2 or EE or Vodafone?Anyone use it near London

Plusnet use EE, Plusnet is owned by BT who also own EE; so Plusnet, BT Mobile both run on the EE network.

I loved plusnet mobile until 8 weeks ago.
I stopped getting calls, the phone did not ring and calls went to answer machine.
Takes 20 seconds to dial a number.
After 10 plus call To plusnet they sent a new sim out.
    Still have the same issues.

The only way to get calls and dial numbers in 3 seconds is to set my phone to 3G only.
Then it works fine. It’s an issues all over their forums but they still denied it was going on.
I thought it might be a phone issue but after using the sims in 3 windows phones, 4 android phones and an iPhone the issue still persists.

If I was not getting 2000mis unlimited texts and 1.5gb data For £1.00 a month I would switch networks.

As Plusnet is a virtual operator it will use different priorities, routes and servers to EE so isn’t always comparable.

Yea pretty crappy support, was told it's impossible for people to get over 8Gb on a 30 days? Also was told that I'm on the best deal...paying £8.40 a month for 4GB, was rudely rushed off the phone, guess it's time to look elsewhere (even know I've been with them for 2 years).

I have 2 sim cards on £10 8GB (going up to £10.50 soon), called to get PAC, was put through retentions/cancellations and was told they can't offer anything better with 30 day rolling contract.
They could offer something with 12 month contract, but I no longer do yearly contracts after having to take T-mobile and Orange to Ofcom CISAS (many years ago).
Might shop around for something better now since PAC codes arrived.

Yep happened to me also today, and with all of the family's phones. I rarely make calls, but the rare time I need to - it doesn't work. Just said it was connecting then "call ended" A bit rubbish really.

Just phoned them and I couldn’t get this deal on a 30 day contract (only on 12 month contract).

And their 30 day deals they were offering were either over £10 for a little more Data or just under £10 for a lot less Data.

Also: To the OP, was it Unlimited Mins & Text.....you don’t state this.....? (edited)

Like I’ve said though, how do we know the voice service is down unless we need to ring out at the time?

i know of 3 occasion in the last 12 month where I’ve not been able to ring out (once yesterday afternoon) how many other times has the service gone down without me knowing?

Yes, at 15:53 to be precise. Call connected no problem. Someone in my town says they have problems, I don't, can it not just be the nearest mast that's the issue? (edited)

got one of their £6 monthly sim deals last year for my mums mobile

trying to cancel was a riight pain in the bum

because i set it up for my elderly mother when she was being asked questions i told her the answer the plusnet employee then cancelled the process because he heard me giving my mother the answers to the questions

my mother aswell as a lot of other elderly people get confused by the barage of questions and passwords (having to be secure enough) from these companies

the customer rep was getting off on refusing the process time after time he cancelled the process 3 times we phoned and he came up with other reasons for stopping the cancellation i hope they go bust and he loses his job

you give people power over you and they invariably abuse it

first time ive had this problem with accounts over the phone

Same here. They were only happy to get me 9GB for £10 on 12 month contract, or alternatively 10GB for £12.
I probably should have mentioned that I hold 2 contracts with them but I forgot.

I just phoned them to try and get this on the 30 day contract but they would only offer it on a 12 month one. If I wanted a 30 day contract it would be 7GB for £11 or 9GB for £12.

In the end I settled for 5GB for £9 on a 30 day contract, an increase of 1.5GB for the same money I'm paying already. That should be fine for my use most of the year, it's mainly when I go to my holiday home that I run out and need a little more.

I’ve been with EE and Virgin. But Plusnet is not a patch. Regular drop outs of service, like a hour with no 4G or 3G today or sometimes no voice calls.
My wife and son have had sims for ages and they don’t notice the issues because they don’t use them heavily.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great for the price but just be prepared for the odd blip.

Tried to get PAC and they literally won't give without giving correct pass code which I forgot. All other info didnt matter. Thankfully ofcom pushed txt based PAC system allowing me to move.... I am still waiting for refund for unused period coz I dont remember the d*** pass code... Will lodge a complaint.... They are good as long as you dont have to deal with a quasi-human because It is not! It is an automaton which quickly hangs up if you fail to provide...
    You know what....
The d*** pass code that you forgot.
