sorted byI don't believe it, I think they have been trying to pump the prices pre-Black Friday and in the period between Black Friday and Christmas we will see some heavy discounting.
Hold your nerve guys! Not until you see the whites of their eyes! (edited)
or Inspiron 15 - 5000 - Ryzen 4500, 8GB 3200MHz memory, 256GB Drive = £503.16 (edited)
Fingers crossed you receive one before 6th and the other before 14th! (and get charged for just the one)

A strong laptop in the under £400 sector and those looking for laptops for school work, should probably pay attention to this deal. (edited)
It's the ryzen 5 3500u.
£499 normally.
£419.16 after applying code BFDAS20
I know. I'm looking to spend under £400 for a new laptop for my mum.
It's not so much of an issue if I don't get it before Christmas - I've explained the situation re: pricing and I've asked if she minds waiting until the new year if need be.
I'm expecting a serious price drop after Christmas day. I know its a different situation, but you could consider offering that to your boy. Tell him you'll buy him one first few days after xmas whether or not prices drop. That's what I've done with the Muvner. I understand it may be a different situation.
Got to be Christmas. Both the kids are treated the same. It’s also his birthday end of December. Would be ideal if his birthday was January. (edited)
Anyone know what the soft mint looks like (edited)
Spend £750 at dell with Amex get £100 back
I hope you are right. I am tempted with this but worried it won’t arrive before Christmas or they cancel the order. Need one for my son.
Cheap laptops seem to be a thing of the past. Bought a laptop for daughter 3 years ago for Christmas. Was HP £280 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD. Been very reliable and fast. Even came with bag and office 365 for a year. I expected to pay similar money but twice RAM and SSD.
This seems cheapest around at the moment.
Without a shadow of a doubt "Yes" if you can spare the extra cash
Some people have a budget though so it's fine
In general the 5000 series is a higher quality laptop than the 3000 series. It's difficult to say whether you'll actually see the benefit as it depends upon what you are using the laptop for, but the AMD Ryzen 5 processor is better than the 3 & the numbers imply 50% faster, although there may be an overheating issue. FWIW I went for the 5000 as it is supposed to be the "sweet spot" between the 3000 & 7000 in terms of value for money.
You can use a free open source version which is safe called open office or libre office and they are compatible with Microsoft office so that they will have no trouble transfering work from school/home. Alternatively you can search on eBay or Google shopping and type in Microsoft office key. This will cost around £10 or more and you just download office from their website and to register you type in the key provided by the seller but just be wary these keys sometimes stop working after a year or so but I personally have not had a fault.

How do you get it to that price of £327? Thanks
Can't find any Ryzen 4500u laptops for under £500 without resorting to codes, cashback or credit card offers.
Sad times.
Aldi one got 3 years warranty

Colour accuracy and brightness are more important than IPS, I have two laptops with TN panels but the dell from 10 years ago beats the 2017 hp because it's almost twice and bright and has more accurate colours. IPS only matters if you want to tilt the screen at a weird angle and still see what's going on.
I read somewhere that these wva screen use IPS technology but because IPS is a LG TM they can not use the term.
I don’t think it would track seeing as you used a promo code
Just as I went to order too. Was showing as the reduced price in my basket then just as I went to pay I noticed the price had gone up!
No worries
We bought Aldi one few weeks ago and happy with it
